Hey, I need help.
I have watched GH off an on for the past twenty years. I go through bouts of watching it everyday and then fading off while busy. I haven't seen it since June. I turned it on Friday and was greatly suprised. I need some help.
1) Fill me in on what happened to Laura
2) What's up with Brenda?
Alos, anyone who has the tape of Friday's show and would be willing... I will paypal you postage to mail me a copy. The Laura montage drove me to tears. It was like seeing a friend die. Now I have "think of Laura" in my head (and I have played the song about 15 times in a row!). I don't think the send off would have been half as upseting had I known it was coming.

ACK! What happened to Laura on Friday??? My office flooded when the pipes on the floor above broke, so I missed it!! Shoot, it finally gets interesting and I missed it. I've only been loosely following GH all summer. Luke and Laura were supposed to get re-married, and suddenly she was having these flashbacks of murder in the attic. Turns out her dad had killed some girl up there, and Laura had buried the memory. Then it came back to her and she killed her dad (at least I think it was her...) Her sons covered up for her, but Scott's on her trail, but thinks it was Luke. I went out of town and missed some of the story, but somehow Laura was in the hospital on Thursday and her boys came to see her. She didn't appear to be physically ill, so what happened????
PS: I pay the most attention to OLTL ;-) |

Ok, now I will paypal someone to mail a copy to me and tigerlily...
TL - Friday, Laura was shipped off to a psych. hospital. There was a great montage of old and new Luke and Laura clips done to "Think of Laura". At the end Luke cried, blew a kiss to her and said "goodbye angel". Really sweet. I read somewhere that she was leaving the show. Off course, she did this years ago and came bak in, what 92?, so there is hope :) I just really would love to have it on tape.

Genie Francis wanted to leave because her real life husband has an assignment for a year in London. So they are taking the whole fam damily over there. She'll be back, fear ye not. Tony Geary and Genie do this on and off all the time. They're allowed, they are the GH legacy. FWIW, I think Genie Francis deserves an Emmy, but then I thought Nancy Lee Grahn deserved one too, for her portrayal of Alexis during the time when Christina died.
As for the storyline, I thought sure it was going to turn out that Luke went to jail, and then Alexis would get him out later (Geary likes to take a couple months vacation toward end of summer/beginnign of fall - ever notice how he disappears this time each year?), but then on Friday he turned on them all after they took Laura out, so it looks like he may escape. |

Angie, I'm sorry but I don't tape the shows any more, ever since SoapNet was added to my cable lineup. Here in NY, the ABC soaps run from 12:30 until 4:00PM on ABC, and then SoapNet cycles through them all night and into the wee hours, so that each one is on maybe 4 times a day total. Plus, SoapNet also does these marathons over the weekend - all five weekday episodes, back to back, of each of the ABC soaps. I don't really know what the schedule is, since I am mostly only interested in the Friday episodes. Seems like even if you miss something during the week, you don't really miss anything if you can catch the Friday episode. Tell your cable provider that you want SoapNet! |

Only 20 years ??? LOL I took a tv to work in Oct. of 81 I believe when Luke found Laura again......tear jerker that was!
Anyway, someone said (sorry don't have the post)that Laura remembered her father killing someone in the attic? Was Rick Weber her step father? The good doc Rick Weber wouldn't kill anyone, he went out with Heather LOL
Ah the good old days.
I wish they'd bring back Robert Scorpio, Anna Devane, Sean, etc back.
Is Brenda back now? I heard that Jax was leaving or already left the show. I haven't watched it for over a year or more. |

This was an exercise in revisionist history. They made up a story and presented it in a series of flashbacks. According to the made up story, Rick was having an affair and he and the affair were in the attic over the garage. Laura came in and found the affair person, Teresa, choking Rick. Teresa approached Laura menacingly and Laura hit her over the head with an old camera and killed her. Dr Rick gave Laura an injection to calm her down, then he and Scotty, who had arrived in the middle of it all, buried the body in the yard. Laura repressed the incident. Flash forward, she finds her old wedding dress in the attic (the house now belongs to the Scorpio family) and starts remembering snippets. The night before her re-marriage to Luke, she goes to the attic and Rick follows her. She starts reliving the whole thing, picks up a candlestick and hits Rick over the head, killing him. Luke walks in just in time to see, and whisks Laura away, leaving all the wedding guests wondering. Lucky and Nikolas team up to find them, and find Rick's body in the attic. They think that they are helping to cover Luke for killing Rick. They load the body in a car and send it over a cliff to destroy the evidence. Meanwhile, Luke and Laura are holed up in an abandoned barn, and we get the whole story in flashbacks as Laura slowly loses her mind. She escapes from Luke and goes back to the attic, where he finds her in her old tattered wedding dress, pretending that Rick is there to give her away and that Teresa is there too, part of the bridal party. Luke tries to get her away but too late - District Attorney Scotty shows up with the police and everyone is dragged away. Now Scotty wants Luke to sign a confession to protect Laura, but really it would protect him too, for his part in burying Teresa way back when he was a kid dating Laura. Laura is nuts, regressed to her pre-Luke teen years, doesn't know her sons Lucky and Nik, doesn't know her daughter Lulu, rejects Luke, only knows that Scotty always takes care of her. On Friday, they took her away to a clinic in London, and were about to take Luke to prison when he pulled a gun on Scotty and the cops. Looks like he's going to get away, I hope I hope!
This GH update brought to you by sleepless nights working on the job that ate my life while SoapNet keeps me company in the background!

Anna Devane has crossed over to AMC. Robert is stil dead, although in soaps you never know.. don't know what happened to Sean.

Brenda is back now. she has that same degenerative brain disease as her mother. She is in the care of Alcazar, who wants both Sonny and Jax ruined and/or dead, becuase he thinks Brenda can't forget her two lost loves and wants her all to himself.

Brenda reappeared sometime this week. Apparently, Vanessa Marcil couldn't make it in Primetime and hair coloring commercials. ;-) Coincidentally, Maria reappeared from the dead on AMC this week as well. Anna Devane has been a regular on on AMC for a couple of years now, although initially she was her twin sister Dr. Alex. LOL! She's married to the Evil (or is he just misunderstood?) Dr. David.
I also wish they'd bring back Robert Scorpio and his wife Holly. In fact, you may have noted that my daughter's name is Holly...coincidence? LOL! Mac Scorpio is but a pale imitation of his brother, IMO. ;-) Can somebody tell me whatever happened to Robert and Anna's daughter, Robin? I remember she was HIV positive and her boyfriend died, but what happened after that? Also, I read today that Bobbie and Scott are going to be an item again after what, 25 years? Remember how she came between Scotty and Laura's young love? LOL! Thanks for starting this thread, btw...what a hoot! |

Robin and Jason were an item. Jason was covering for Carly, telling the world that little Michael was his son, when it was really AJ's son. Robin knew and was uneasy with the lie. Then she and Jason broke up and Robin went to medical school in Paris. But before she went, she told AJ the truth.
Over on AMC, when Anna Devane finally realized who she was, she had a really tearful reunion with Robin. It was one of the most powerful scenes ever, shot in slow motion. Robin was at the doorway of Wildwind, preparing to knock, decides to leave, Anna opens the door, Robin sees her and faints dead away, Anna lunges to catch her, cradling her to the ground. I was bawling my eyes out! I'd love to see Robin Scorpio return to one of these shows, especially now that Anna is pregnant and divorcing David. With all the crossover stuff going on, anyone on the ABC roster could end up anywhere nowadays. |
