Driving by our 'pending' Krispy Kreme shop last Saturday I was trying to check the countdown sign (how many days till opening) We were getting close and while I have had better donuts, I love Kripy Kremes so I've been watching. They have had shops across the state from us, but not here so it's a 3 hour drive to get them or a visit to relatives lol.
I couldn't believe my eyes. The sign said 4 days (making today the grand opening!)and there were tents and lawn chairs all around the building. People were actually camping out at Krispy Kreme! I've been giggling about that ever since.
As it turns out, they had a pre-opening party Sunday and all who attended received a free dozen donuts. I assume, as I've not been back by there since, that this is why the parking lot became a camp ground.
Anyway, I planned on stopping by there later today and grabbing some yummies for my team at work, but my lead said she was gonna be in the area anyway and would stop. So...
Looks like this kids gets some Krispy Kremes for the first time locally today! Whoo Hooo!!!

Cool!! I don't know what it is about krispy kremes, but let's face it, we are hooked. I remember when we were at the Jersey shore this summer. I got SO excited when I saw krispy kremes in the market. No, they weren't fresh, and were prepackaged, so to speak. I bought two packages, and loved them!!
In a mere 36 days I will be eating them at WL!

I don't buy them often - but I love them fresh or prepackaged. :) My favorites are the chocolate frosted with the whipped cream filling ... mmmmm

Ahhhh...yes!!!
Our local KrispyKreme store opened last spring here..and it was a HUGE deal!!
They had shuttle buses from other parking lots even!!
And the drive-inn line was sooooo long that they had traffic control!!!
Still when I drive by,there is a lot of cars in the lot!
Fortunately..It isn't in a place I drive by very often..
LOVE those things!
My favorite are the lemon filled ones! |

you guys are not going to believe this, but the Starbucks on Main Street two towns west of me has Krispy Kreme donuts! Since I'd never had one before in my life, I got a glazed. It went down like silk. However, it was 95 cents - a dollar for a donut??? I think not. I draw the line at $3.57 for a mocha frappicino, tall, no whipped cream! |

I've never had a Krispy Kreme— all we had where I grew up was Dunkin Donuts, which I love. Where we live now, we only have KK, which I have yet to try. I'm trying to keep myself convinced that I wouldn't like them nearly as much as DD, because if I ever do try them, and like them, there'll be no stopping me. If that makes any sense... |

I used to love Dunkin Donuts - I rarely buy any kind of donuts but Krispy Kreme is absolutely my favorite - you can buy them here at gas stations and the grocery store (and Target, etc.) - they are everywhere!
