Posted 10-13-02 12:17 PM Ahnalira, I remember the remodeling effort my parents went through when we were kids, and one of my brothers is in the thick of it right now. Not for the faint of heart - I applaude you and Alan! Can't wait to see what your new bathroom is going to look like! Tink *~*~*

It seems to be coming along nicely. ...Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...life is but a dream

Posted 10-13-02 10:29 PM How absolutely gorgeous! Although I loved the way the bathtub area looked before you tore it down. Hope you're going to put something similar in there!
The bedroom, though. THAT was amazing how you changed the whole atmosphere, including that beautiful four poster bed. Love it!

Posted 10-14-02 08:24 AM How to describe what we are doing in the bathroom...hmmmmm. I think I might just have to surprise you; >)
This house has been a mind expansion for me. I've
always leaned towards Victorian architecture, and
my interior designs were of the "faerygodmother" persuasion
(jewel tones and whimsey) This villa is most assuredly
a contemporary with a southwestern feel (mexican tiles
almost everywhere )
and it took me a day or two to wrap my mind around
it and make the shift to a "shaman" look. I found
almost of all of the wallpaper we are using in a Cirque
de Soleil book. I'll have to take some closeups for
you; >)

Posted 10-14-02 11:30 AM Oh yes, please do!
Another thing I love about your house is the stairways everywhere. Even just the steps into the bedroom. It kinda gives it an open and airy feeling.
And those french doors? They're to die for! What wonderful summer breezes you're going to be able to catch with those!
I'm anxiously awaiting more pics!

I have a lot of saltillo tile as well. I've been wondering if you had plans on replacing it. I love the stuff, but it can be limiting design wise. In another year, my whole house should be saltillo. King Unca Bubba Lord DisneyTex

Posted 10-16-02 03:16 PM (Gulp) I'm nearing to the end of a massive 2 years long remodeling on my 40 year old home---bought it cheap because it was foreclosure and immediately started work on it--- so good luck with the project and that you don't go bald over ripping your hair out.
I can't wait to try out the radiant heating tiles in my kitchen! So nifty and no more cold feet.

The tile will stay, Kerry, but the number of rugs we own is on the upswing; >)
