My faith in
the humanity has once again been renewed tonight
We just had a "ring and run" at our door, but when
we opened it we found a wonderful treat bag from the
Halloween Phantom! It was a little bag with a glow
stick and happy skeleton light up thing, mini pumpkin
votive holder with candles, spider webbing, a lawn
decoration and my favorite candy bars (must be someone
I know!) and a couple other nice treats. It came with
a poem asking you to do the same for someone else
and it came with a picture of the phantom to hang
on your door to show that your home has been visited.
What a really cool idea. I will be off to the new
"Super Target" grand opening tomorrow to pick up goodies
for our turn to be the phantom
Wow, I just can't stop smiling...
{hugs}

Posted 10-13-02 12:38 AM Oh, thanks for reminding me. I wanted to start that in my neighborhood. I found out about it last year but it was past Halloween. Now what did I do with that poem? ...Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...life is but a dream

I tired this for 3 years in our old neighborhood. The first year no one did it. The second year 1 of the 4 families we "treated" passed it on. The third year, no one passed it on.
All I kept hearing were comments about how everyone was so afraid of what might be in the treats and whether or not their house was being stalked. It was really depressing.

Wow, that is a real shame
We went around and counted atleast 34 doors with phantoms
on them (our neighborhood has 62 homes). It seems
as though the idea has really caught on. It stinks
that so many people don't feel they can trust their
neighbors anymore. What a shame...
