Okay, Tuesday is Andy's next weight and measure. Time to start making your guesses. Karma got it on the ounce the last time. Now I am adding the length component as a tie break. I am going to make you do a little research on your guess (meaning, I am not going to tell you where he was the last time - I posted that already!)
Andy has his first news conference on Monday. We are doing a late roll-out (January 30 was the National date) of the March of Dimes prematurity campaign. Daddy got a hair cut today, and has written his "speech". Lets hope we don't drop into a bad news cycle (locally).
123 babies a week are born premature (before 37 weeks gestation)in Minnesota. Of those, 10% do not make it - yes, about 12 babies die a WEEK just from premature birth. Another 10%, including Andy, will go home, but with complications. Nationally, 450,000 babies are born premature - meaning about 45,000 don't make it home. Our goal is to cut this number by 15% in the next 4 years.

expect Andy will have gained weight, I expect
Andy will have grown, and I expect Andy's mom
and dad will have bought him a teething ring by now".
BTW, make sure you wear a tie on camera!

No teething ring, he hates them as well as pacifiers.

Let's see..I think 12lb. 6.5 oz. and 24 inches...

Ooohh....poor baby! He's chewing on his own hands instead of mommy and daddy's? Awww....
Quick note on MY family's "teething" ring. (This may explain a few quirks, it may not, but it's entertaining)
My dad has always smoked. When we were born, he was in the Navy and carried his smokes in a metal/tin cigarette container that came apart. Whenever he was home on leave and one of us woke up in the night crying because we were teething, dad would take the top off the cigarette case and toss it into the crib for us to chew on.
My mother would usually interupt when he told this story with a frown and a bad word or two, but his defense was: "What?!?! It shut them up."
To this day my siblings and I can't decide if it was
chewing on the cigarette case top that shut us up
or getting bonked on the head with it in the middle
of the night in the dark that kept us quiet.
True story.

Newsconference went well. Andy was a doll. BethK, we should be on wither the 5 or 6pm newscasts (probably 5) on NBC or ABC locally. With the Shuttle, who knows though.
Get your weight guesses in tonight. We see the Ped Tuesday morning.
