I took some more pics when I was visiting my family yesterday. (Been working on my B&W skills and got lucky with the sun popping in and out).

You lucky people get to see them! Won't that be fun?

(sit down...shut up...drink the Jack Daniels I offer)

This is my dad's/brother's cat, Casper. This animal is really not that bright because last year he stuck his head down a gopher hole to see if the animal he was chasing was still there. Yep, it was...and three vet trips later he's almost as good as new. (The wounds on his face have healed nicely)

I can't decide if I like him better in B&W in these photos, or if the color of the plastic Xmas table-cloth my sister put down for the cat's food dish sets him off better.

My mother/father's demon dog Schnauzer:

He's loud and whenever he wears that dumb sweater, he bumps into people with his body because he itches. Thank God for instand garbage can on the digital because he ruined alot of my still shots by bumping into me while I was lining it up. Damn dog.

But if you take his sweater off, he shivers so we can't win either way.

My BIL's dog, Coffee:

Coffee's getting a little old. She's having problems with her hips lately so I'm surrepticiously (sp?) taking photos of her because I know he'll be devestated when she dies. I think (after a period of grief) he'll be happy to have some photos of the dog he lived with and loved before he met my sister. (They've been married over 8 years)

Of course, NO photo shoot would be complete without a picture of that ham, Frankie. (And I do mean ham...not only is this cat FAT, but he's a sucker for a camera). Of course, he DOES like to ruin some shots:

Stupid cat.

But this one reminds me of Dick Van Dyke when he's singing the Chim-chim-cheree song about the rooftops of London - " 'af in shadow, and 'af-way in light":

And, of course, my fav pic (there's always one or two favs in every shoot). I souped this one up for sis:

Thanks for looking at my photos. Be lucky you're not Melissa and D-R. They live in the same city as I do and could conceivably be asked to view vacation pic slide-shows! LOL!!! (No, not really - just a friendly warning!)

Beautiful! Your gorgeous white cat reminds me of my cat, Butch. He had cancer and died three years ago and I'm not over it yet. In spite of the fact that cats don't like hugging, give him/her one for me.

I'm sorry to hear about Butch, Sam. I know Frankie's my sister's baby and she'll be devestated when he goes. (Not for a looooooong time hopefully)

Frankie gets lots of hugs, that's fur sure! He can't move fast enough to get away when one of us wants to hug him. (He LOOKs disgusted, but I think deep down inside he likes it)

Glad you liked the photos, also. This is typically where someone would post "Don't ENCOURAGE her!!!"

Oopsie! Forgot one!

CASPER

Believe it or not, this was a brightly lit room with the sun streaming in through the windows. But you wouldn't know it by just seeing the cat there in the beam of light. I love how the red kerchief meshes well with the blue tablecloth and the brightly lit white cat looks SMASHING in the whole thing with the darkness behind him.

OK. I'm being boring. Sorry. But I do love my photography!

Have you ever seen Trading Spaces?

There is a designer on that show who I'm thinking if she were to ever read your above quoted paragraph, she would make a coffee table out of the bandana, paint the floor blue, and staple a bunch of white cats to the wall.

I'm not bored by your pics. I'm not much of a cat person, instead preferring to snuggle with a hefty labrador retriever (preferably black as sin and over 90lbs.) I've had several outside cats and I've loved them all dearly, but none can compare to my black lab babies!

I haven't seen Trading Spaces, but I've heard perfectly ghastly things about the show. I even read in the TV Guide how one woman went backstage or into another room and they picked up audio her crying about her "new" living room or dining room or something. If someone crys over a makeover, it can't be that good of a show.

Ronski, believe it or not I actually prefer dogs to cats. My family has always had dogs instead of cats. I would absolutely LOVE to have a dog here and have a fenced in yard because the former owner of this house had a dog.

But I'm typically working so much that the poor thing would be so lonely. Even if I got two, I'd worry about them feeling alone without "their" person around. I wanted to hear another heart beating in the house (and have an explanation for unexplained noises instead of "ghosts") so I got a cat about 5 years ago.

Sometimes I worried about her being alone alot, but whenever I tried to get her a "friend" (another cat) she usually wound up either terrifying the poor thing or getting into fights with it. I guess she's a loner like I am.

Frankie was the 2nd of such "friends" I tried to get her. My sister and BIL were living with me my first year here in Lansing. (We were all in the banking industry and we'd all been sold out of a job) When I got Frankie, my sister would always yell at him because he got on the counter and always tried to get into her food. But once we found out he was deaf, she felt so bad for him and so sorry that she wound up taking him with her when they moved out.

Just as well, I guess. I'd come home from work and she'd regale me with tales about how Frankie'd come into their bedroom and spit out a mouthful of black fur. (My baby's fur) When she'd go look for my kitty to see if she was alright, my baby would be spitting out a mouthful of WHITE fur.

Well, THAT got long. But anyway...that's the story behind Frankie and why I'd rather have a dog but I wouldn't trade my cat in for anything now. Hopefully you'll post some pics of your baby, Ronski!

Keep them coming. I love the black & whites and the things you're doing with shadows. I admire your talent. I'm afraid I'm even pretty bad at point and shoot.

Awe yes, crying Pam.

You should give it a shot, I think you'd like the show.

I love the pics. White is the only color cat I've never had.
I like his attitude.

...just over the "Rainbow Bridge," aren't they Ahnalira? Sometimes I swear the cats I have now are just the ones I had before recycled. My Siamese Matilda the Hon (Tilde) lives in the Siamese I have now who's name is Stinkerbell. Butch is with us in my Maine Coon Cat, Zimbe.

The pictures are all beautiful and I love looking at them, both for the subjects and the quality.

I have just a dog now, but so miss having a cat around - they are so funny sometimes!

Here is a picture of my dog, Simon, when we first got him about a year ago. I love this picture and treasure it. He's obviously quite a bit bigger now, but still just as lovable and cute!

Edited to say: Eeeek! I thought I cropped the pic, sorry so large!

AWWWWWW!!! Look at the little hush puppie!!! How adorable!

Oh boy I really really want a dog now. What a sweetie! Thanks for posting the pic!

I also wanted to edit to say I LOVE the light on the back of his head and tail. Very nice use of lighting there!

Simon looks like he's trying to navigate the cracks on the boards...was he having trouble with that as a puppy?

Well, he's a dog now and you wouldn't love his breath anymore!

Actually, it's not bad at all really, just at times, but definitely not like puppy breath anymore. I know exactly what you mean!

Thanks! He's a really cute grown dog now, but I fondly miss that ball of fur that used to fit on my lap.

Thanks, LL. He really is just the sweetest guy, so gentle and mild-mannered, except when one his family comes home, then he gets wild and runs around at the doorway in circles lol!

Simon was and is a kinda clumsy guy, so I have no doubt he was having issues with those cracks! That particular picture was actually while he was still at the breeders and still with his mom - we had picked him out shortly after birth (he was actually born on the day we left for a Disney trip lol!), but had to wait until he was old enough to come home with us. So we used to visit him until then lol! That picture was *my fix* until we got to bring him home.

Ohhhh makes me want to go out and get a cat of my own. I'm a frustrated cat lover 'cause my DH is allergic to cats---yeah yeah I married him in spite of that fact.
