Posted 01-05-03 08:08 AM That's my talisman that I say when I wake up from a nightmare:
"I would sleep were it not that I had bad dreams".
The only thing I really hate about nightmares is that I'm usually the only one on the boards when I can't get back to sleep. I don't know if it would be a good idea to have a B/F or husband or not, because he'd be wanting to go back to sleep and I'd still not have anyone to talk to.
Has anyone ever been aboard an aircraft that has imploded? Anybody? Anybody? Beuller? Beuller? I have. I only wish that I would wake up BEFORE I freakin' died. That's been a new development in the past few years: dying in my dreams. Most people wake up before they die. (OH, and I'd like to debunk the myth that when you die in your dreams you really die...unless this is some kind of horrible "Limbo" and the Catholics turned out to be right)
Just for the record, when you are aboard an aircraft that implodes, there's no pain...your soul merely gets thrown from the aircraft, lands on the tarmac (I still can't figure out how I felt the heat on my face if I wasn't in my body) and you watch the fireball before realizing
"HOLY SHIT! I DIED AGAIN DAMMIT!!".
Then things go dark like at the end of a movie and you wake up with the sheets sweated through. I've had to replace more pillows than I care to count in the past few years.
Don't laugh but I've actually had dreams where the credits roll. I can't friggen READ the credits, but they're rolling anyway. I usually wake up after the "cast" part starts going up.
I'm never going to be able to look at Christopher Walken the same way again. He's the one who told me after the mirrors broke that "You'd better go...you wouldn't want to miss your plane". Spooky guy to begin with but holy cow!
Anyway, I'm rambling. Been awake for two hours now and it's still a very vivid dream and I'm wondering if the next terrorist attack is going to involve a plane imploding.
Thanks for listening. Maybe since I've sicced this out of my system I can go about my business now.

Posted 01-05-03 12:38 PM Next time write it out as a screenplay script, LL. You've got a winner there. It's even casting itself! ...Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...life is but a dream

Ferris Bueller. I may have the spelling wrong.

My husband gets saga-like dreams that he remembers the details about, whereas I rarely remember my dreams even though I know I have them.
As a kid I recall a recurring dream I had and that I have no problem remembering at all. My mother and I were in some sort of high-rise building waiting for an elevator, but when the elevator came my mother stepped in and there was no elevator car. She fell and I would run down the stairs, down, and down, and down... I would always wake up before I got to the bottom...
I bet the analysts would have a field day with that!
Anyway, this is several days late, but I hope you
are better rested and taking care.
