Posted 12-28-02 07:11 PM There I was, minding my own business, having a wonderful relaxing bubble-bath and letting the random thoughts flow in and out of my head.
Peace.
Bliss.
Nice hot heat from the water.
Candles burning, the candle scents mixing with the floral scent of the bubbles.
Total relaxation, not a care in the world.
And then THIS random thought popped in:
Barry Manilow is gay?
Ever since then, the same two lines from that stupid song have been going through my head:
Her name was Lola,
she was a showgirl...
I owe you a knuckle sammich, Dab.
A whole week of peaceful bliss, beginning with a giggle
and ending with a kiss. |

Have a relaxing rest of the evening!

Posted 12-29-02 11:57 PM Check out Barry himself, starring in "Copacabana: The Musical" availible NOW on VHS and DVD.
I think this may be a sign of the end times.
Also:
Barry runs his own website, which is pretty fun, AND several years (more than several, by now) Rolling Stone ran an interview with him under the title: "When Your Name Is A Punchline, You Live In Hell".
I'm not kidding.
VB I wouldn't F*@k RiRi with HOWIE'S Di@k!
and now, name that quote:
"What the F*@k?
You mean you found out I did it?
You can't post that!
I'M TELLING!!"

I thought he did some pretty bad acting in that movie with Annette O'Toole. The one time he came close here I had to sell my second row seats and they were in the center section. Oh well. A little tidbit here, many many moons ago (too many to even want to count), I was in contact with his then "friend", I was sent a job offer by his now manager, who at the time I think we figured out he was selling the merchandise at the concerts? I turned it down because I was pregnant at the time. I met him once while I was talking with his friend. He's a very very nice person.

Posted 12-30-02 09:13 AM Had a roommate in college who adored him and his music and would play nothing else.
the other gals and I (there were 4 of us in the suite) would tease her by calling him 'Barely Man-enough'
His music isn't bad if you're in a syrupy kind of mood. That was simply a case of enough is way more than enough. lol. "One small drop of water raises the sea" Marian in Dinotopia
"One who grows does not grow old"-Texas Bix Bender, writer
"Look Mommy," he whispered. "The butterflies are dancing!" At that moment, inside my soul somewhere, all the tumblers fell into place."-Kathy Storfer, "A Dig in the Dirt," Green Prints Spring 1997

Posted 12-30-02 07:31 PM Barely Man-enough.LOL. Oh that's a goodie. I'll have to remember that one. I am surprised I didn't think of it, but I never really thought about Barry Manilow one way or the other. ...Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...life is but a dream

Posted 12-30-02 11:07 PM Well...a charming young relative of mine knows something the rest of us keep wondering about.
She's 6 and she called me a few days ago to announce excitedly "HURRY! Turn on the TV! MARY BANilow is singing!!"
The little cutie knows "Mary Banilow" is a favorite of mine so she thought she had better call IMMEDIATELY to let me know.
Still, I wonder if this child in my life knows something I don't know.....things that make ya go..hmmmmmmmm *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Peace to all ducks

Let me tell you, his old best buddy that I knew was definitely gay. Nothing wrong with one's lifestyle but the problem is some of the women on his fan site and other boards...holy moly! They live in a fantasy world where they dream about him and I do believe it would shatter some of their illusions. (definitely NOT refering to everyone on the sites but there are some and everyone knows who they are LOL).

Posted 12-31-02 12:01 PM I know what you're talking about Dab. I always tried to fantasize about the guy that plays Brian on Queer as Folk, but I could never get past the idea that he'd never find me attractive because he was gay.
However, rumors are abounding now that Gale whats-his-face is actually straight and is merely so comfortable with his sexuality that he can play either role on TV. WOOO HOOO!!
I must be really shallow because my fantasy love affair with Christopher Reeve ended 10 years ago when he kissed Michael Caine in Deathtrap. My mother insisted I watch this movie because it had my favorite (at the time) movie star in it and she insisted that she watch it with me.
She said she loved the look on my face when it turned out (in the movie) that Christopher Reeve's character was gay. While I think I've forgiven her for this, it isn't something I don't think I'm going to forget. Thinking back on it, it seems that it was pretty cruel of her to do that to me.
It's not nice to take away a woman's fantasy lover.
If you ever
do this to that Barry Manilow fan, please be aware
that she'll probably resent you forever for it.

Oh no no no no no....for many women whether a man is gay or not has nothing to do with how hot they think a guy is. I'm one of those women..as a matter of fact in Freddy Mercury's last 5-6 or so years I thought he was a HUGE hottie and would have..um...well...YOU know...! LOL *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
