WORM_SPONGE.A is a destructive, memory-resident worm that propagates via Microsoft Outlook by sending itself as an email attachment to all addresses found in the Microsoft Outlook address book.
It arrives in an email with the following details:
Subject: SpongeBob Wallpaper
Message Body: Send this to your friends and make them laugh…
Attachment: Spongy.exe
It drops files and modifies the registry so that its copy, ACE1.COM executes at every Windows startup. The worm also overwrites .SCR and .PIF files, and its Macro virus component infects Microsoft Word documents by overwriting the NORMAL.DOT template.

I wonder what inspired this new Disney T-shirt? "I'm right. You're wrong. Any Questions?"
