Recently I have grey boxes popping up that say messenger service at the top and have an ad in the box with one button at the bottom that says ok. I know nothing about computers so any help or explanation would be really appreciated.Thanks.

Can we assume you are on Windows, probably XP?

There is a door that Windows XP leaves open for corprorate network messaging communication that spamers have found. Make sure your operating system has all of the patches installed, and then look on TechTV.com for a solution to it (It involves turning this feature off in your control panels, and if you are a home user, you don't need it anyway.)

Thanks so much Robb. I did just what you said but will hold off on feeling proud of myself until I know I did it correctly. Hugs to Andy!

If that doesn't solve your problem it might be a pop up from Real One Player. I get the same box sometimes when I shut down Real One, it's an ad box for them. I haven't tried to figure out how to disable it, but I'm sure there must be a way in the Real One preferences.

Hope this helps,
