Two worms have been upgraded by Symantec as a Level 3 Threat!

I always suggest that you have your antivirus set to auto update. That way you don't miss any updates.

I heard the antivirus programs on our mail servers were much more active today than usual. Luckily I doesn't seem like anything got into our network.
I toss my cookies for Disney.

W32/BugBear malicious code
added September 30
We have received reports of an increase in scanning activity directed at port 137/udp. This port is commonly used for NetBIOS name resolution by Windows Networking. Reports suggest that this activity is related to a piece of malicous code known as W32/BugBear. Several antivirus vendors have published signatures and additional information about this worm. Links to antivirus vendors can be found on our Computer Virus Resources page.

We are continuing to review reports related to this activity and will provide updates as we learn more. We are also interested in receiving reports of this activity. If machines under your administrative control are involved, please send mail to cert@cert.org with the following text included in the subject line: "[CERT#37433]".
