Anyone know anything about Plug Ins?
I want to throw this computer through the window today!!!!!!
When I deleted an older version of AOL I think I deleted somethign I shouldn't have.
When I reboot a gray box comes up telling me that
a required DLL file XMLPARSE DLL was not found
Then I'm getting some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation.
Installation of what???????????????????????
I didn't touch anything to do this one.
Anyway, since getting this DLL thing, I can not bring up anything that has a .exe someone told me that was associated with AOL?
I've been doing ok with this DLL plug in thing until today.
I need this optional application data form for the feds and the only way to bring it up is with Adope acrobat. Where that went on my computer, I have no idea but it's not there anymore. So I go to download it and what do I get?
Plug in will not initialize.
I don't understand flip about computers and how they run. I know how to type and push enter. I don't even know what a plug in is.
I have been talking to this guy who works on computers and tells me he can put one together blind folded and tells me that he can fix it but I'd have to come to his place (his winks, not mine). I'd rather break in some place and steal a new computer first! LOL
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
edited to add.....where did my winks go????? LOL
I see them but since I put the arrows on each side, it must delete it when it posts?

It's still in your pc, just not in the right place, most likely.
Here is what you need to do:
All you have to do to make the error go away is click on (start) then (run) then type (msconfig) then (ok). This will pop the msconfig menu screen. Select the (startup) tab and take the check mark out of the AIM name location. Click on (apply) and (ok). This will want you to restart your computer. When it restarts you will get a box that asks you about changes made in the start files. Select the option not to show the next time you reboot. This should work and fix the problem for windows 98 and windows ME users.
or this:
Even better and more thorough. Make sure AOL Instant Messenger is still uninstalled. Click on Start>Run, type in Regedit, click OK, Click on the + sign beside HKEY_Local_Machine, then Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then Current Version, click on RUN. On the left you will see a list of services, right click on AIM or AOL Instant Messenger and DELETE. Once removed from the Registry it should no longer make the call to the missing DLL file and will only reappear if AIM is installed and improperly uninstalled in the future. If you already did what the last guy said from MSCONFIG you would find the entry under RUN- instead, however, you should still remove it.

Don't be, honey. I just knew where to look for the information, and did a bang up job of copying and pasting it here!
