If I have my avatar linked to some personal webspace can someone backtrack somehow to get info about me?
I'm hesitating posting with an avatar and have similar concerns about photos as well.
Speak slowly and in small simple words when you 'splain this to me please. I often have to have it explained several times in order to understand it. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

One could follow the source of the avatar or picture back to it's domain. However, it would not allow them to access secure (passworded) portions of that domain. If you post your avatar or pictures on a free webhost (such as I Village) the person would be able to view whatever information was posted publically there. If your personal computer serves as the webhost (unlikely), it would increase the likelihood your computer could be a target of an attack.
