DH and I purchased a pink “My First Pin Collection” lanyard and pin for Miss Molly while waiting for the others to complete a baby-swap thing. The baby swap thing really worked out well with the six of us. No one missed anything they wanted to do because of having a toddler with us. And the pin for Molly was the beginning of an addiction for DH and I and we bought two pins each and put them on our hats saying those were the only ones we wanted. Ha!
In MTF, the Pooh characters were featured and we thought Molly might like them and might have gotten used to them, but NO, No, No! I didn’t see Tigger coming to sneak up behind me and hug me though while I had Miss Molly in my arms and caught unaware, her eyes just got big, but she didn’t cry.
We had lunch at Cosmic Ray’s and found it to be everything everyone says it is: fast, not bad food, lots of variety, not bad prices, crowded, noisy, satisfactory, all in all. The kids were hungry by then and ate well, but we were all anxious to move on.
The Fantasyland ride lines were lengthening when we got there and we were sidetracked at the teacups when SIL spotted the Mad Hatter and began his quest for Alice in Wonderland character autographs (the full set). He of course said it was for Sam, but as my daughter used to say, “We weren’t born on a turnip truck!” As we moved on to Dumbo I was really enjoying watching everyone and trying to learn how to use my new digital camera. I glanced up and saw someone who looked really familiar and tried to think who they might be. I thought it was a cop I knew in Norman or at OU, then had to really laugh at myself when I realized it was Erik Estrada from the old TV show CHIPS. He and his VIP tour guide stood next to me and in front of me and I thought it would be pretty interesting to watch these events unfold. The first “fan” saw him and soon there were more asking for autographs and to pose for pictures. He was certainly very gracious to everyone. It looked like such an invasion of his privacy to me. Then my SIL got off the Dumbo and said, “Did you see that? That’s Erik Estrada. I’m going to get his autograph.” I mumbled something about privacy and respect. I mean he’s not the March Hare! On the way we saw Mary Poppins and Bert and the Penguins. Mary Poppins is SIL’s favorite Disney movie. It is now totally impossible to recognize him as the dignified, professional, conservative funeral director he is as he bounds across the park with Sam’s autograph book in his hand.
We headed out for Frontierland and the Haunted Mansion. Sam wanted me to ride with him. He was a trooper, but really didn’t like the skeletons popping up out of graves. I laughed through the whole thing. After riding BTMR, it was nearing time for the parade so we moved across to Liberty Square. Without my even asking, a CM directed us to a terrific parade watching spot. We chatted with the people next to us and the kids all met each other and the two families made sure all of the kids were able to see the parade. Sam and the little boy next to him were picked by the CM’s in the parade three times to come out into the street to play, once with Chip and Dale and then with Mary Poppins and Bert and finally with Captain Hook, the pirates and the lost boys. One of the Lost Boys gave Sam a sling shot and told him to shoot at Captain Hook’s backside. Then Captain Hook whirled around and chased them down the street. That was my absolute favorite Magic Moment. It’s so much fun to play.
After the parade, we went to the HOP and the rest of the gang went to SF Treehouse while I shopped (for more pins).
The sun was starting to creep lower and I suggested we go scope out a spot for the Fireworks. DD and SIL still had energy and went shopping a little while the Boppa and I stayed with the kids. The fireworks were magical and we slowly made our way out of the park and toward the boat back to TTC.
We had pizza in the room and there was more swimming and that was the end of a perfect day.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons; for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
