Posted 08-28-02 09:24 AM Just to let everyone know how NICE this is... A great place to take the tired, cranky kids or get out of the afternoon thunderstorms and relax in comfort. It's located above the Garden Grill restraunt. Nice comfy couches and chairs, kids room w/ toys and kids movies, free soft drinks, and hot beverages, tv's, newspapers to read. It is currently an experiment in progress and slated to close the end of Sept, however with enough support it may become a permanent thing. ronski

The dates for closing have changed a couple of times, it is a WONDERFUL perk for passholders and definitely write to disney if you want it to stay!

Posted 08-29-02 01:30 PM When we there in August, Mickey and Pluto showed up and watched TV with the kids, we were the only one there at one point, and it was really incredible, they were acting the cartoon, really funny. Of course I did not have my camera...
The one in Animal Kingdom is not as nice, which is too bad... christineH

LOVED it! That
Epcot AP lounge was a life saver, and boy it was cushy
Characters,
hot/cold beverages, TV, couches galore, and you can
bring food up from the food court
It really spoiled me for the AK one, which I was NOT
impressed with - it was Hotter than Hades, had no
AC, the water thing was almost empty, ancient video
games (I think the directions were written in hyroglyphics),
and people melting all over the few seats they had
It was much
nicer inside Pizzafari than the AP lounge - IMHO that
lounge was a punishment, not a benefit, lol!
{hugs}

Posted 08-31-02 06:57 PM I sure hope it stays open - on my trip in June, it rained every day of the trip - not just the passing afternoon thunderstorm, but steady rain. Coming from Seattle, you'd think I'd be used to it, but nooooo. I also carefully stored by poncho in the room every day. The pass holder lounge was a god send, and the staff was extremely friendly. I actually ended up taking a little snooze there one damp afternoon.
