Yacht Club here I come………..
OH joy of joys! I didn’t care that Willy Wonka woke up at 6:00am again. I didn’t care that Dh was grouchy when he woke up. Why should I care I was on my way to Heaven on Earth, My happy place. Nothing could get me down; well okay my son Adam could and did at the very first chance he got. We left The Royal Pacific with fond farewells and see ya next year( as is our ritual every time we leave a resort in Orlando) All was still well until we reached the Welcoming gates to Walt Disney World, you all know the ones with Mickey waving at you ! Boy I love those gates. Well no sooner had we passed those wonderful gates did my loving son catch a major attitude. I tried my hardest to ignore him and concentrate on the wondrous things to come but it was becoming increasingly harder as the minutes wore on, the final straw came when he started picking on Stephen and the whole car erupted in to a screaming madhouse. Stephen was crying at the top of his lungs , Adam was laughing because he made his brother cry and my DH and I both started screaming at Adam at the same time. So much for my euphoric moment `1
`I was still yelling at Adam the Antagonizer as we drove through the security gate and into the parking lot of The Yacht Club. I have stayed at pretty much all the resorts on the property but this was my first time here. I had been looking forward to this moment for almost a year and it was ruined, ruined I tell you, I could not believe I was this Pi**ed at Disney. It was not a very Disney kind of feeling I was having and I told Adam the Antagonizer more then once on the brief car ride that we were on a family vacation and he was going to have fun if it was the last thing he did and that if he his attitude did not change I would kill him ( oh the blasphemy ) I reminded myself of the father from National Lampoons Vacation" You are going To Wally World and you are going to have fun ……" you all remember that scene . Well at this point my husband thought that I had gone all Linda Blair on him and I was possessed by some strange anti- Disney monster. He looked at me and told me to go on ahead to check in he would take care of the kids.
So no sooner did he say that I was off in running trying to recapture the moment and it almost worked until Sissy the Cm told me that they did not have the room I had requested but they did have room 2003 which had a "great view but is a little far away" okay I said give me room 2003 and send me on my way. By this time DH and my three sons arrive and off we go with Jim from Bell Services and our luggage to room 2003. Well a little far away does not even begin to describe where this room was. On the journey our favorite saying became "Are we there yet" well it seem like forever (actually about 10 minutes with the luggage and stroller and the screaming Stephen to get to room 2003. By the time we got there I was praying that it had a nice view because if not then I was going to have to go allllllllllllll the way back to the front desk and with the mood I was in it would not have been a good thing. Well Jim opened the door for us and I was back in heaven, Out the French doors was the best view of the Boardwalk. They reason we even stayed at The yacht club was so that Dh and I could sort of have sometime alone when the kiddies went to sleep to enjoy the view and each others company. After the ordeal of the first part of the day I sent Daddy and the 2 older boys to the pool so I could have some time to myself ( well okay me and Willy Wonka could have some quite time) We headed off to explore the resort and of course take pictures. I was a little upset that the christmas decorations were not up , but that was okay I was in Disney! Willy Wonka and I found daddy and the other 2 over in the sand area of stormalong bay and had to convince a purple lipped Stephen to get out of the water. Of course that started another screamfest by my lovly 2 year old but happily there was another family that was having the same problem as we were and therefor we were not the only one that people we staring at. So off we wet back to the room to dry off ,clean up and head to MGM for the night, At least that was the plan until we got to the boat dock to catch the next one to MGM. We had been on line for about 30 minutes and people were not all that happy at least 2 Epcot boat had come and gone but none for MGM . I finally asked the captain of one of the Epcot Boats if he knew what the hold up was and he told me while trying to keep a straight face " it seems that an adult has gotten wedged between the seat and the window and is rather stuck, they are trying to extracate him but I really don’t know how long it will take" my response was " An Adult?" and " Are they going to use the jaws of life" . I think the jaws of life comment was the poor mans undoing for he was laughing so hard he could not drive and the other driver had too. Okay if any of you are theones that got stuck let me know just what the hell were you thinking? Okay so we ended up walking to Epcot instead because the boat never showed up, It was very cold and after all the excitement of the day we called it an early night after watching the tree light up and walking around the World Showcase. Tomorrow MGM unless some other silly grown up gets stuck someplace!

Posted 02-10-03 07:56 PM This reminds me of why I don't want kids. Could you have a talk with my husband, who wants lots?

Posted 02-11-03 07:46 PM Easy solution, Jeena - YOU work outside the home and HE becomes a house-husband.
If he is not willing to do this, then he has no business wanting kids.
Tink *~*~*, who has NO KIDS! but like to borrow other people's kids, pump them full of sugar, and then give them back to their parents. Tink *~*~*
