12/27 MGM
Cast: Mary, David & Dale
We intentionally started late today. While I was waiting for the boys to wake up, I headed to the DVC desk to make plans for a tour. I requested 12/30 since that was our rest day before the big NYE party. I wanted early but when I found out we could get fast passes just for touring (and thinking they would come in handy on NYE) I scheduled it for later so Dale would tag along and also get the fast passes.
When we arrived at MGM we headed directly to RnR Coaster. 90 minute wait. Went to TOT, 55 minute wait. Since this is really a pleasant que to pass the time in we decided to go ahead and ride. It was actually just about 55 minutes when we boarded. Since Dale was a virgin we managed to get him assigned the seat belt seat. Great ride. Dale said he was scared stiff but the picture certainly did not show it, no emotion showing on his face at all! Went to find a spot for the parade and grabbed burgers at Backlot Express to eat while waiting. I love this parade. Thumbs up also from the boys who saw it for the first time. I don't remember exactly what we did then other than just strolling through the shops and the rest of the park. About 7:15 we headed over to Osborne lights. WOW! Way over the top and everything we expected. We had planned to stay for Fantasmic but even with a late start, we all seemed to be wearing down. Headed back to Riverside. Spent a bit of time in Fulton's and being entertained by Bob Jackson in the lounge. Picked up food and ate in the room while watching a little TV. Mostly David and I were laughing about Dale's antics. He was beginning to wear on us and it was a bit of release for us as Dale stayed at the bar. We were afraid we would start hurting Dale's feelings so we blew of some steam together.
Tomorrow's plan: David and I are both RnR/TOT fans. The only way to get our fill of these was to do EMH at MGM. This would be the day. We told Dale that we were going to be at the bus stop by 6:30. If he wanted to join us, fine but we would not make any effort to get him up.
