Soory it took so long and it is not as funny as Janies but I tried.

Universal and beyond….

We left the west coast at about 1:00 pm (we got a late start) and headed up to The Royal Pacific to start our Universal Adventure. The traffic on I-4 was horrible and after sitting for about an hour and a half arrived at check in around 4:00.
Let me start out by saying I am a die hard Disney fanatic and the only reason we went to Universal was because my darling husband wanted to ride the Hulk as many time as he could before moving over to Disney. That said I am happy to report that I like The Royal Pacific as much as any resort on Disney Property.
I was completely taken in by the Bali charm of the lobby. They were in the process of putting up an island paradise made of ginger bread and chocolate. It came out beautiful with Santa in a tropical shirt sitting under a palm tree. The Christmas tree that they had set up in the lobby was beautifully decorated and the lobby had this calm soothing effect which as anyone in my family can tell you I very rarely am calm let alone soothed by much of anything. Check in took very little time and they offer the same express checkout as Disney. If you leave a credit card you can use your room key for charging at both of the parks and at the resort. Bell services was wonderful and quick. By the time we were all checked in our luggage was on its way up to our room. We were placed in room 1632 with a view facing the pool and their Christmas tree off in the distance. The room was beautifully decorated with dark reds. And the bath room was a very nice size with a double vanity outside.
The only thing that I did not like is that they charge you $6.00 a day to park and that choice of late night dining was very limited. They do however cater to kids with poolside activities and games such as ping pong tournaments and Sling shot water balloon wars. The pool staff was very pleasant and seemed to enjoy their jobs.

After unpacking and a little more exploring of the resort we bundled up (it was quite chilly) and headed off down the walkway from the resort to Islands of Adventure. The resort offers a water taxi type thing to the parks but with a double stroller it was just easier to walk. It took about 10 minutes and the path brought us right out by Jimmy Buffet’s Margaretaville. We had purchased Universal Power Passes online before leaving home and hit the E-Ticket machine to pick them up, and off we went. Of course the first ride was The Hulk, Adam was a little upset that he was not tall enough to ride so we sent off dad on his own.. Adam settled for Storm Force which is like the Mad Tea Cups and I and the babies hit the nearest bench to wait for the boys. Next it was off to Spiderman the Ride and once again I found the nearest bench and waited (you’ll start to see a reoccurring theme here me and the bench and the babies) I had gotten a new Sony Digital camera and had fun taking lots of pictures while I waited. My husband and son were having a blast and it was so nice to see the looks on their faces as they came off the rides. Stephen and I had a nice little encounter with Spiderman and the Green Goblin Oh and Captain America was very easy on the eyes . We headed off to Me Ship the Olive so Stephen could run around and let off a little steam .After about 30 minutes he had to be dragged kicking and screaming (this was the first of many tantrums) away from the ship. Daddy bought him a giant Spongebob Squarepants soda mug (with Sprite in it) and he seemed happy for a while anyway .We spent the rest of the night wondering around. It was very quite and not crowded at all. When we reached Seuss Landing I was happily surprised at how Christmassy it felt. There were Christmas light all around and it was snowing, Christmas music was playing ( not the normal Christmas music but stuff like White Christmas by the Drifters and Jingle Bell Rock ) DH , Adam and Stephen headed off to see The Grinch while Will and I hit the stores. The Grinch was not much of a success with anyone in my family and Stephen would not stop crying, seems the Grinch was very mean to him and was making fun of him and Stephen did not like it that much. Mom mood took over and I wanted to go in and give the Grinch a piece of my mind.It took 2 rides on One Fish Two fish and a few slides down the water slide to make him all better. As it was getting late we called it a night and headed back to the resort, as we were walking past Magaritaville. I had the urge for a Margarita and it really was quite good.
We got take out from Jakes American Bar and Grill and ate dinner in bed .Tomorrow is Universal Studios and MIB (no not those MIB but the ride) heehaw Ta Ta For Now. stay tuned for more.

When you wish upon a star......

HEY HEY HEY! I love all trip reports. It's just that I can't resist posting goofy remarks on the hysterical ones!

(I also envy anyone who can write a coherant trip report. Mine are a horrid mix of all thoughts, feelings, happenings and other assorted stupid stuff...they're NOT the best reading material for innocent victims..er..I mean innocent friends.)

I await your next installment with anticipation. The closer we get to our departure the more reports I manage to devour.

Captain, My Captain - you have returned to us!

(doing the Flutter of Joy)

I'm sorry the Grinch was such a...well, GRINCH! We loved Seuss Landing, and I wish I'd seen it all done up for Christmas.

Can't wait for your next installment!
