Cast: Cast for the Journey: John, 42, Old Widowed Man, pushing trip 20
at WDW, DVC member. John the Smaller, 9, now at trip 16.

Resorts: Saturday 12/21: Four Points Lakeside.
12/22-29: Old Key West, Studio

Weather: Well, a perfect day for touring WDW though a bit chilly.

Pet Peeve of the Day: Gotta be whenever you're in line for a ride or attraction, and just as you are nearing the entrance 7 or 8 people appear out of nowhere and join their group...you know...the group right in front of you.

Merry Christmas. We were at the entrance to Epcot at 6:40 A.M. Yup!! Still dark out. It was Extra Magic Hour day at Epcot, and I figured we would get a few things done. Well, we did. Remember my son with the Test Track fixation. We rode it. Then we rode it again. Yet, again as I started to get a bit green, then once more for good measure. Yea Verily, 4 times without getting off. Whew!!

Once we left the ride we went to the pin trading station to pick up the Christmas Day release. It was a follow-up to 4 others released for the holidays. It is pretty wide and says, "Christmas at Walt Disneyworld." Mickey et al adorn the top part.

After getting our pin, we stopped in at Electric Umbrella for breakfast. John had cereal, and I had a breakfast burrito. Then, onto the monorail. We were off to Christmas Services at the Contemporary. They had both a Protestant and Catholic service. Christmas Day only, so for those of you who rejoiced greatly when they were stopped, relax, they are still gone. The service was over by 10:00, and we headed back to Epcot.

We rode Imagination with Figment, then went to World Showcase where we planned on spending the rest of the day. We headed over to Canada, picked up a Passport, then started John's quest to have the Passport stamped at every country, and to make a mask. We made our way around the WS doing just that. We paused in France to say, "Bonjour" to Clopin, and to listen to Pere Noel tell French Christmas Traditions. After France it was time for lunch. We decided on the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. This was a great lunch, and quite a bargain for the amount of food served. John selected a pizza, and I had Lamb and Chicken with Couscous and 2 other veggies. All excellent.

After lunch we continued our quest. In Japan we noticed that the candy maker, Miyuki was having a demonstration in about 10 minutes. We had read about her online, and were looking forward to seeing her at work. All I can say is, "Unbelievable!!" Her creations were absolutely beautiful. If you get a chance, I would have to add her to a must see list. Not necessarily an every trip must see, but definitely an "If you've never seen her" do it, list. For those who don't know, she uses taffy, puts a ball of it on a stick, asks audience members what they want her to make, the basically sculpts the taffy. We saw her do a parrot, a unicorn, a frog, and John's request, a scorpion. If she asks you for a suggestion, you get the candy. Oh, okay. Can you tell I really enjoyed this??

Our journey continued around World Showcase. We picked up oranges at the fruit cart along the way. Spain is still there. Still very temporary, but still there. We picked up Fast Passes for Maelstrom, then went to Mexico to ride the Rio Del Tiempo. This actually had a line. Kind of strange, but we waited. Smaller insisted. Next we rode Maelstrom, then we made a stop for Cookies and Cider before getting in line for Candlelight Processional. We had a dinner package, and were booked for the 5:00 performance. I had a very nice chat with the family near us, then it was time for the CP. We love this, and have seen it for at least 7 years. Always with a dinner package. Our narrator was Gary Sinisse. He was okay. After, we wandered around Germany until dinner time. We had our dinner in Germany, then decided to head back to Old Key West.

Yea Verily...we started at 6:30, and were back in our room at 9:30. This was extremely unusual for us as we usually take an afternoon break. This also wiped Smaller out(Oh, by the way, several online friends we ran into all said the same thing...John the Smaller is about to outgrow his name. Gonna have to fix that.) His Christmas wipe out set the tone for the rest of the week as he never recovered. More on this later.

Well, sorry for the delay. Computer continues to cause probs. Will have the rest up asap.

John, I'm glad we heard from you, as I was getting worried!

Sounds like the next installment will have maybe a cold or the flu in it? I know, I know - "stay tuned"!
