Where is everyone??? |

Just that kind of a day, Robb. No one's got much to say, I guess.
I just got done with one load of laundry, did the dishes and made spaghetti while listening to my local jazz radio station. Nuthin like hearing Tony Bennett sing "Fly Me to the Moon" while cookin' up a big pot 'o ragu!
Watched a little "Rock Star/A Beautiful Mind/Mr. and Mrs. Bridge" while I had dinner, then went back to cleaning up the kitchen and doing another load of laundry. (I'm like a guy when it comes to my TV: I don't want to know what's on, I wanna know what ELSE is on)
Got bored with "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge" so I'm back online until 9:00 when something else comes on. (I don't know what, but I've got it bookmarked on my cable box)
So what are YOU up to?

Had a big day with Andy, we had a Board meeting and then went to two more meetings (in which he tossed his cookie during lunch, oh well). We then came home and napped.
I am now trying to get to writing projects done for clients. We will see how well that works out tonigh. DW has Andy now - which means the dog now wants my attention.
Scrubs is on. Hmmmm |

What's scrubs?
Personally, I think that's why I like this board and others like it. I've seen too many other boards where people run their mouths and blather on just to see their text in print.
People here are intelligent enough to know if you got nothing to say, shut up! :D :D :D
(I know, I'm blathering on) :D |

Hey Robb can you give my DH pointers? He is a wonderful man but we are on the second little darling and he still doesn't know how to make formula, He has heart failure if I leave him alone with the boys for more then 2 hours, You Robb sound like a GREAT dad . Little Andy is very lucky :)
I haven't been on much because my 9 year old has hijacked the computer.

Scrubs is a Comedy/Drama on NBC (Thursdays after "Friends"). I think it is very well written, and reminds me a *little* of M*A*S*H. |

Ah....network TV. How quaint!
hee hee....OK. I'm getting bored now and feel the need to finish up the dishes from the sauce, load another load of wet towels into the dryer and make a pineapple upside down cake.
I hope you were able to make the dog happy! And when you get a chance, send an email over to that poor woman's husband describing how to make formula. :D |

We will have more than one computer. (It will give me an excuse to buy a new one by giving this one to Andy...).
As a man, I know that most men want to be better fathers, but what women think a father should be, and what we have bred into us are two different things. I spent a number of years of my child/teen/early adulthood, taking care of my bed-ridden father before he died. This one thing makes me different than most guys, in that I really got to know my father (I had to wipe his butt, so I *really* mean I *really* got to know him - reference the "humor" thread at this point), and I know what to do, and what not to do because of the time I spent with him.
I am a good father, because I had a great dad. Not one without problems, he had huge ones aside from his illness, but one who tried to be "there" for me and pretty much succeeded. I have been given that chance with Andy. It’s not without sacrifices, but all without any regrets.
What exactly is your DH worried about when he is left with the kids? There are many factors that can determine what the issue is, but whatever you do, don’t cut him any slack – they are just as much his as they are yours.
I made a pretty serious error in mixing Andy’s new formula (he just switched over from an augmented breast milk mixture to fatten him up – we are out of breast milk). I added the powder before measuring the water. Where most formulas are 22 cal, and I was supposed to mix it to 24 cal, I accidentally made 29 cal. This was not good for his system. There is a lot of fear in being a good parent, and I know men feel it, but don’t want to express it for fear of being labeled weak or ridiculed. I do think any man can be a father, only few can be a dad. I have done a lot to get there, but I have another 18+ years to finish the task.
Thanks for your kind comment.

I've been so busy trying to get a handle on my case load since we returned from WDW that I'm home at 5:30, in my PJ's at 5:35, and on the couch at 5:38 cramming a plate of whatever into my mouth and staring at the TV.
I hope to get a trip report up this weekend. |

I am recoving fromt he stomach flu, and haven't been up for much.
Robb, you sure are a good dad. Tim is a good dad, too. He was always right there with mixing formula, changing diapers, etc. Mari was a preemie, and we had to boil bottles, etc. for her. It was such a huge help to have him around.

Okay, so people boil the bottles? (Sometimes I feel like by the time I learn about everything you need to know to be a parent, your kids will be parents themselves.)
Where the heck is that manual... |
