Dab This will help prove your point against AOL to me.
I get 2 emails from ToseMail saying that I have 2 TOS's from email and my account will be cancelled if I don't go to this website that asks for my email.

Now, the screen name is the same as the one where you send your TOS's to. I was pretty sure it was someone trying to get my password since the only emails I've even written the last few days have been to some on here HMMMPPPTTT!
You all know who you are : ) Just giving you a bad time, no TOS's on account.

So I go to online help and get the live tech. First big mistake and I swear I should go to the huge AOL center here in OKC and just tell them I'm there to work. She tells me to forward it to her and then tells me it's probably from their CAT department and I need to call them. I ask her, should it not have the blue official border if it's from AOL? She tells me, well CAT doesn't do that yet??? I knew then I wasn't talking to someone who would know much. The official people to notify you of TOS violations don't have the official blue border on their emails??
Then I ask her why it wasn't sent to my other master screen name as I have 2. Normally if anything official comes from AOL, it comes to both screen names. She says, dunno LOL
So I call and wait and wait 10 minutes later I get a very nice lady. First thing this woman asks me is, did it have a blue official border? Nope and I tell her that's what I told this online tech. She said all official mail has it. Then she asks me if I got it on the other master screen name? Nope and tell her this woman didn't know that answer either.
What it is is someone has gone to one of the services that lets you set up your screen name with an @ so it comes as Tosemail1@aol.com but it's not an aol account but looks like one. I clicked on the buddy icon and it said they were not currently online which I'm sure AOL official emails doesn't have buddy icons to IM them LOL
Anyway, for those on AOL she did say the latest scam to try to get passwords is that someone is saying they are from the AOL gift section and you've won so many months of free AOL. And the insta kisses. Don't know if you've seen those.
What a relaxing evening LOL I was just singing in the bathtub to my Queen CD. I had no idea how many of their songs I really like.

I got a bunch of these recently - AND a bunch of emails from people who have apparently given their password to these folks - emails telling me to "click here" for hot horny girls. Yeah, right.
I have no idea what the tosemail thing would be - I forward junk mail to tosemail@aol.com all the time.

I don't know if you all have the 8.0 version, but it does have a button on the bottom of each mailbox that allows you to report spam and what not to AOL. It even allows you to report it and block all further mail from that address.

Aol can be one big pita, but I do like the message boards there and that's about all that I keep it for. I'm seeing more and more board content going web-based and moving from AOL, so it's likely that I won't have a need for it sometime in the future.

phamton Yes, it is a hoax to steal your password, at least that is the word I heard on snopes.com.

Captain Has anyone ever had results from forwarding these emails to tosemail@aol.com?

A few months back I got frustrated with all the spam I get at my aol acount. I started to forward all of them but eventualy got tired of it, since I saw no improvements in the volume of spam.

Yep, I used to forward all kinds of spam to them. Didn't see to help.

Peggo Still another reason why I never felt a need to have AOL. As long as I can get online, I have no need for a portal. I can find my own way around ,thank you.
My sympathies to those of you who use it as an internet provider.
