We never do anything. My parents use to throw a big party but that ended years ago and now everyone just stays home.

I honestly think we should consider moving the party to Robb's house. I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Didn't really sound like they had much for plans. :D |

Self-concious? No Crank, that really *is* a firehose you carry around - either that or a zoom lens. The rest is just your fantasy. As for the party over at my place, we will be doing fine on our own.

Being naked on NYE is MY Xmas present when I'm currently involved with someone. Unfortunately that's not something that's going to happen this year. But there's always an option of a three-way with a married couple I know. :D ;) |

Since Dsorcerer and I have been together I've not gone anywhere on NYE. Used to go to an annual karaoke/slumber party at the parents' of some friends of mine. Hot tub, pool table, munchies, drinks and lousy singing all night long with general snoozing where you dropped so no one drove under adverse conditions. Mostly a family plus a couple of lucky friends thing.
Now days it's a relatively sedate-though not usually so quiet evening at home. Ed is a former DJ so he usually spins some discs and we munch and get silly. The form that takes depends on who else is here. This year it's just the two of us. Last year it was us plus my Nater who we found is a pretty fair air drummer lol.
Unfortunately, Ed came home from work not feeling well, so unless that improves, it might be just me toasting in the new year with a glass of wine from those same pals I used to spend the evening with and watching some great movies on DVD.
Either way, tonight is that much closer to tomorrow morning when the boys are 'supposed' to be returning from time with Butthead. That's what we're waiting for.

I will be ringing in the New Year with my 4 boys and a not so quite (with them in the house)evening . DH will most likely play the new PS2 game BloodRayne that he is addicted to will I doze on the couch around 12:00am
Wish I was at Epcot staring at the fireworks with Ajax....

Recovering from a long day, here.
We will be feasting at home on steak, shirmp, lobster, salad, and other assorted munchies. We will toast in the New Year with a boottle of sparkling apple cranberry.
Add some board games, possibly, to the mix, and you have a quiet New Year's Eve at our house.

Getting naked used to be our tradition, back before the boys knew enough to want to stay up with us! Now the oldest is 13- and we haven't celebrated that way in years.
So instead, we're havin' a party! Come on over, if you can find me ;)! 6 friends and their assorted kidlets, for munchies and sweets, and champagne with Chambord... now I just have to stay awake, been cleaning and preparing since 10am, and they don't even arrive till 8.
For those of you watching the ball drop in NYC tonight, I wrote a little trip report up over on Goofy's Huge about our quick visit to Times Square yesterday. I even managed to keep it somewhat Disney related, I think!
Happy New Year to my new Common Groundling buddies!

Awww sheesh. I think I forgot to tell ya what I'm really doing tonite.
I've been downloading my latest Norton update and it's taking HOURS to do so, so I'm gonna finish that (oh GOD yes, my life IS one big whirl of fun and intrigue, is it not?) and while hubby sleeps at midnight, I intend to quietly scream "woo HOO" while slamming an entire bottle of fake cold duck all by myself!
Now to figure out how to 'quietly scream'. Not sure of the vocal logistics of this one, but I'll manage somehow, I'm sure. I'm not positive one CAN scream quietly though....hmmmm

I had a very nice surprise earlier tonight. My cell phone rang and it was an old boyfriend from 10 years ago who is and always will be a best friend. He called from Sacramento just to wish me a happy new year. Really helped my night tonight! Otherwise, we are all here at home safe and sound so far including my 19 year old. |

we generally stay home, me, dh and the boys - have snacks, watch movies, sometimes play a board game or do a jigsaw puzzle. The boys have finished their sparkling grape juice already, and we made them put the playstation away. They're watching a Star Trek movie, so I decided to hang out online a while.
