Dab to the basher site from ??? so I went back and read more subjects there. It's not too bad but I think that some words are used to excess and it gets old. I honestly lose respect for anyone who says the c or the tw word but that's me and my perogative. (?sp)
Anyway, the link was sent to me cause my name was mentioned by Cookie about me getting bumped off the Manilow boards. I actually left but would not be welcomed back I'm sure. LOL
It's just not my style, I don't wait in 3 hour lines for a 2 second book signing, I don't stand in the freezing cold to see him do a radio show, I don't know every aspect of his life and don't care to, I don't go into debt to travel to see him, yes I think he's gay, I don't have shrines in my house (don't even think I have a picture) (I think I've covered a lot of it). It's fine to be a fan and collect items, go see shows but you know and I know some people go too far. L/M come to mind along with quite a few others. It actually surprised me when I left the boards how many people IM'd and emailed me and told me that they thought too many people on there were nuts. People I would never have guessed but they just go along with the flow.
To remark on a few other things I read there:
LL did not provide a link nor the name of your board, the person defending your position did.
Over here not much gets deleted by the administrators which would be why the links haven't been deleted.

LL did not copy a post from there, your defender did.

CG holding grudges and blasting Tombo? People here are waiting for YKW to take down the silly FBI stuff off their site.

Isn't it hard to check ISP's for AOL to tell if they are the same people?

One thing about CG is that people are individuals. Some may tolerate others, some get along very well. People tell other people when they think they are crossing the line, some just ignore that thread and move on. It's not a group mentallity here but more for the individual. If one thread isn't for you then you move to another thread. In one thread you will see people who normally agree, disagree and eventually become friends again. And yes sometimes when someone from RCH comes over and starts in about certain posters here there is a gang mentallity but they know it before they post it to do it for a rise. It's the same as you are saying, if you don't know the full story it's hard to judge. It's the same as I said in the very beginning, I only judge others on what they've said or done to me personally or to friends here and some other boards I go to. I think people are confusing the outback as being CG when there is much more to CG then the outback which was created specifically for the complaining, bitching, etc.

Ajax What's amazed me since I became involved in the whole RCH mess is the vitriol connected with what you would assume to be benign sites like those for Disney and Manilow fans.
I always assumed that the real nuts were on the political and racist sites. Guess not. It looks like they're spread all over the web.
Some of those folks that showed up Wed & Thurs met my 'stalker' criteria.

Karma Some of the people meet my stalker criteria as well, and sadly this is only the tip of that iceberg. :(
I have asked them to stop and I wish they would but it's not likely.

(and how silly of me to think that they'd stop just because I asked! LOL)

Well, well, well......CrazyPagan/LunarLady has just reported on Common Ground that she was banned from the DIS for posting "inappropriate smilies". Everyone is stumped and is asking her how can you be banned for that. She hasn't replied yet.

She also said she was banned from another board(any guesses which board?)....and they are all calling her "bad names"(Disclaimer...since it's Christmas Eve I won;t repeat THOSE words)

Usually people only do things when asked by someone they respect. and I have zero repect for you, so there you go.

And Ajax, your YKW-isms hold just about as much weight as hers. the people she disikes are 'haters", the people you dislike are "stalkers". Same difference.

Far from me to step on any toes here (these folks are more than able to defend themselves) but where was it stated that you were disliked?

Don't get me wrong here, debates are debated fiercely here but typically end with no hard feelings. Witness Tombo.

LL may well be from Mars but she has earned the respect she receives here. Many here have become accustomed to her, ahem, "outbursts" and she has felt the sting of repercussion.

I, for one, am not willing to debate morality lest they start with me...

Lunarlady I guess I've got a tougher skin. I'm sure somewhere here or there I've come across the statement: "LL, I'm gonna kill you!!!" and I don't really consider it a sideways attempt at murder. But, then again, I'm pretty dense. The only time I've ever felt uncomfortable was when someone from Michigan (or at least that was his stated home state) started becoming obsessive with my posts. He never mentioned "killing" or "murder" or anything like that. It was just that he felt like a stalker to me. But that's over.

Note to Dab: Yes, I c/p a post on the 23rd when I was really depressed. I did that because I wanted to express what I was seeing and going through. I forgot my number one rule and that is: Just don't go there and look at it.

I'm working on going back to that philosophy.

I've talked to a few other friends and I just have to repeat here what I've said to them: I like CG because they are people like myself who will stand back, gather information and make an informed opinion. I've also seen opinions change here without the rest of the group jumping on someone for changing their minds. I like that.

It seems to me that most people here realize that there can't be personal growth without change. I will admit when I'm wrong and I'm glad there are people here who will accept that I make mistakes just like everyone else. I like that.

Francine and I have already gotten "into" it regarding board policy (I thought she was being too "Pixie Dust", she thought I was being too...I don't know...just too. I should never have made a statement like "Who died and made you moderator?" Big mistake. ;) :D :D :D), but we got over it and moved on. People get miffed at me, and I get P/O'd at others, but that doesn't mean I'm going to make that other person's life miserable just because I pissed at them right now. We're all adults. (Well, I'm trying to be from time to time)

I think that's why I like this board the most. They don't buy into "ganging up" on people because alot of them just came out of a bad situation at another site. Experience is the best teacher.

I'm rambling again and I promised myself I'd spend less time on these boards. But that's my .02 cents worth. If y'all feel the need for me to be paying you for having to listen to me, just send me your email address and I'll PayPal you back your .02 cents worth of time! :p :p :D

I more than welcome a face to face confrontation. But sneaking into someones house in the middle of the night and slitting their throat is a bit different than a fight. I think it's time for him to either put up or shut up. If he wants this internet mafioso thug persona to have any merit then he should start producing some results (as he has implied he has done so many times in the past).

Riiiight, just because he prefaces it by saying "this is not a threat", then proceeds to say what he would do were he so inclined, then it's not really a threat.

So if I go to someone and say "I'm not going to insult you, but you suck", then I haven't really insulted them? Does that work in other situations as well? "I'm not going to rob this bank, but give me all of your money".

He/She/It is trying to prove something there. Canal Park, the place that he/she/it mentioned is the local AAA Baseball Team Stadium. This is supposed to intimidate me by letting me know that he/she/it knows where I live.
