There is a question that has been bugging me for a week now:
Has anybody heard this Boxcar Willie sing? I went to a friend's house to drop off something and I heard this weird train-like whistle coming from a music CD and asked my friend. She said that it was Boxcar Willie singing and making that noise. Uh? Singing about train whistles? I accused her of playing a joke on me and she said "Moi?"
Sheesh! Is it true or she got one up on me?

I am almost ashamed to admit I met Boxcar when I was about 10 years old. My mom was a country singer (who d'ya think bought me my hat?) and her band opened up for him - I was backstage, woohoo! So when they were done we got to "party" with the "stars" heehee :D She also opened up for Randy Travis at the Nashville Palace and some other lesser knowns... Shane Minor, Bill Anderson (singer and host of TNN game shows Fandango - on which mom appeared, and You Can Be A Star). Yeah I know, who??? But it was cool at the time :)

Well, I met him like 16 years ago, but if I remember correctly I think he does make that train noise. He wore the whole conductor overall get-up and everything. But, there we banjos, and knee-slappin' and hootin' and hollerin', so it is all kind of a ho-down blur, lol :D
