Conspicuous in their absence since they both failed to show up for the chat at Ahnalira's place last Friday night, neither VB nor LL have been making their respective presences known here on Common Ground in the last 72 hours.

This situation conjurs up all manner of wild speculation in the minds of the populace. Enquiring minds want to know! Therefore, I call for a vote on the following scenarios:

1) VB has been offered a role in a Broadway production and no longer has time for "the little people"

2) LL started meditating and is stuck somewhere in an Alpha state, unable to move or speak

3) VB was abducted by aliens; however, upon arrival at the home planet, he decided he liked it there and is teaching courses in proper English to the alien citizens

4) LL has joined the circus, performing astonishing feats of bodily contortion...on the high wire...wearing leather!

5) VB and LL abducted each other and have not budged from the corner in the last three days - Ed is making popcorn

6) (insert your own wild speculation here)

I'm going with #6. Who can forget those long ago threads where a certain instigator suggested they get a room. I think that is EXACTLY what they have done. Oh well, at least we know they are spending the holidays with someone.

Have any of you considered this?

Perhaps VB and LL are really Santa and Mrs. Claus! Hey, you don't know, it could be true! They are so busy loading Santa's sleigh, and preparing for the long night of delivering presents to all the children in the world, that they just don't have time to come online.

So, you better watch out. You better not cry. You better be good. I'm telling you why! Santa Claus is coming to town! (aka VanBrujah)

Uh huh, yes sir, yep, I am positive that is the answer!

I asked for #5 or #6 for Christmas this year, actually....

Not saying who I asked, mind you, but I asked!

wherever they're at, I'd bet it's beyond warm. And speaking of the third member of the Cosmic Corner Crew, where are Ed & Fan?
See you at Epcot on New Years Eve! I'll be the one staring into the sky with my mouth open!

It lives! Knew I could flush out at least one of you.

I demand to know what you've done with LL. Return her to the Common Groundhogs unharmed, and all is forgiven. If you do not comply within 24 hours, we will take away your tin foil hat!

I've just been avoiding most of the boards for awhile. As for VB, I still haven't a clue what he looks like, let alone worked out a "clandestine meeting" with him.

In the past week, I've gotten kicked off the DIS for posting inappropriate smileys and have had another board call me cunt, twat, bitch, waste of humanity, most horrible person in the history of the world, I should die and do the world a favor for 4 days in a row (and still counting, although they've found other targets finally).

Let's see, I've also admitted to myself that at last it's completely over between an old B/F and myself and sent back the rest of his property last Friday. I'm also pretty much sleeping alot of the time and will try to sleep through the holidays if possible. Get a fresh start on Jan 2.

I'm avoiding most of the boards because all the "Be thankful for your life because these people have it worse than you" threads. That stuff is OK once in awhile and a story or two does make me think and be grateful. But for some reason this year there seems to be such a proliferation of sob stories, it's like a competition to see who is having the worst Xmas coming up because:

1). They lost a loved one and this is their first Xmas...
2). They lost a pet and this is their first Xmas....
3). They lost a baby 25 years ago and are still dwelling on the fact that this child would have been 24 this Xmas
4). They lost a leg or arm or car and can't get to work and their kids are starving
5). They lost the recipe that great-grandma "X" gave them for Xmas cookies
6). Fill in the blank.

It's just too freakin' depressing to watch so I had to get away. Spilling your stories about how awful your Xmas is going to be this year (Oh, but you're still thankful) is ONE contest I can't imagine anyone really wanting to win...but they're still out there doing it.

Ahh....I'm just rambling. Having a down day. I hope all your holidays are wonderful! Thanks for thinking about me.

I'd rather be happy than right.

See? Start talking about people and they come right back to 'listen.'

STILL waiting for YKW2 to pick me up since he's running late, even for YKW2. But I promise, I WILL be at WDW tomorrow.

Guh? This definitely wins for most bizarre Christmas story. What is an inappropriate smiley? Are some smileys only appropriate for certain boards? Because I currently have YKW2 working on a smiley that portrays YKW taking a dump on her friends' feelings. Guess I better not export that one . . .

Stand by, sweetheart. Ou weathermen up here are telling everyone who plans to travel from Toledo to New York City to get on the road today if they want to miss a doozie of a snowstorm in that area. Good Luck!
BTW, I raided the chocolate shop yesterday for stuff to load in my Wife & Daughters stockings, and found a chocolate Rudolph from 'Rudolph & the Island of MisFit Toys'. The detail is perfect! I bet he'll eat well, too.

Hey LL-
What is innapropriate use of smileys? I'm stumped.
I've also been called vile, viscious names on boards before. I quit going to those sites. Keep in mind that it doesn't take a lot of brains and no heart to churn out stuff like that. Forget those folks and let 'em stew in their own juice.
Good idea on the Christmas Snooze. Although I love my friends & family, we have an insane schedule over the next six days that just keeps getting screwier. I just want to wake up in a southbound Northwest Airlines 757.

See you at Epcot on New Years Eve! I'll be the one staring into the sky with my mouth open!

Sorry about the bf but sometimes the no contact/realization that it's over is the first step to a happier times! I haven't talked to mine for a week and plan to keep it that way.
Anyway, I wanted to add to the above list:
Why people who slammed you, are mad at you and haven't talked for months (friends in general or relatives) send Christmas cards or emails telling you that they hope you have a good holiday????

Well, well, well......CrazyPagan/LunarLady has just reported on Common Ground that she was banned from the DIS for posting "inappropriate smilies". Everyone is stumped and is asking her how can you be banned for that. She hasn't replied yet.

She also said she was banned from another board(any guesses which board?)....and they are all calling her "bad names"(Disclaimer...since it's Christmas Eve I won;t repeat THOSE words)
I'd rather be happy than right.

LL, I am sorry. Just please remember that there are plenty of people who respect you, and care for you exactly the way you are. Go where you know you are cared for, and I think you know where those places are.

As for me, I care about you, and will keep you in my Christmas prayers. If I have learned anything in the last months it is this. I don't have to agree with everything everyone says, or does, to respect and like them.

LL, let me just say that some people don't stop their cruel behavior even at Christmas time. They believe they have the right to say anything to or about anyone at any time.

To some folks, anything goes and they have no concept for the feelings of others. Nothing is off limits to them, please remember that.

I care.

Peace.
