I always stopped
at the BC to look at the Big Grin in the Big Hat. Belle
was the only one on that page that didn't look as if
she'd just been served with a summons.

Ahnalira,
Place your cursor over the dreaded red 'X' box and right
click. Choose properties from the options that show
up. Highlight the URL that will show up in that
box. Right click again and choose copy.
Paste that into the address box at the top of your browser,
hit go and you should be able to see the picture.

That method works
most of the time. There may be times that the person
submitting the photo has it stored on a service that
requires a password to access behind the scenes, or
they may have accidently attempted to link to the area
they upload to rather than the general viewing area.
In that instance you may not be able to view even using
this method. But you'll get most things. Geocities doesn't
like direct links so pics stored there are often not
visible when posted on other sites. This method will
work to see them though.
As for them showing up here after you did that. Really
you are getting that picture out of your own cache.
Once you have viewed it in it's home environment, your
temp internet files store it (as long as they are configured
to do so) and when you view this thread again, it will
use that to pull the photo up for you. Mine is set to
empty after I close my browser, so I have to pull it
up again if I choose to view the photo.
