No, she wasn't jumped on because she said "poor people". It was the statement as a whole:

I refuse to count your work laptop... it's not really OURS you know... and we wouldn't really want to make these poor people jealous.. now would we..

Even if you strike the word "poor" from this statement, you would have generated the same responses. There is an implied feeling of financial superiority in the content and phrasing even without the word "poor". This comment, plus her tendency to throw around her financial status would rightly lead anyone to make this assumption.

And I'm sure she does feel she is better than her audience in many ways, not just financially. Her general haughtiness is apparant each time she posts. Some people apparantly feel the need to project their own perceived superiority. It's annoying, yet laughable.

I no longer use the name I used at Reader's Clubhouse prior to the Age of Enlightenment. I have used the same name on all posts at Common Ground. Is that the question?

No name change here either. Yet! Though I've thought about an experiment. I'd post there as myself, then as someone else and see who lasts longer.

But silly me, the omnimpotent wouldn't miss that feeble minded experiment.

Lori-who though she claims to be a mousey wimp prefers to own what she says and does, even if it means dining on crow later.

I don't think it would matter in the long run. It's all in what you say. Independant thought and or a harmless post pointing out another side of the story will still be deleted.

Remember the other day when they were all "attaboying" and backslapping each other over the SS fraud campaign against Francine?

This was posted in that thread by DISNEYDAY.....

I'm sorry you suffered nancy.

I hope you know that VI didn't mean you any harm. She didn't know the email was from you.

It was deleted.

So, while you would certainly be deleted in short order for posting under your known screen name, eventually they would delete you for using logic or ACTUAL kindness.

Yeah, they had a field day at my expense, all because I objected to being on a list of 70 people getting emails that I did not want. And, you do know what VI stands for, don't you? They refer to me as Village Idiot.

After that incident last week I lost what little respect I had for some folks over there. To repeat myself, because after all, I am an idiot, all those that still go there should beware, and watch their back. I was once esteemed, and now they call me an idiot. These are not people that make good friends.

Oh, and here is a tidbit for everyone. The snake that you all can't stand, Kaa? It is Cruella. She was one of the ones who emailed me during that attack. She was the one who made the comments about me living on the dole. Nice person, huh?

Which is why I was so glad that BillJ posted of his family's current challenges here as well as there. Not that he has to know I'm thinking and praying for him and his family to make those thoughts and prayers more effective, but often it's just a comfort, even if only a small one, to actually know that others care.

In fairness, I've not actually tried to post there. So, what I've said is only what I surmise based on others' experience. If I did opt to do so, they could very likely prove me wrong too.

But I thought you were one of those who said Cruella was a nice person when she posted here? Well that explains a lot.

The think 'kind person' is the same thing as an idiot. That says volumes on what type of people they are. And in some respects the word 'idiot' from them is actually a compliment. It means someone who tries to be nice to others, and give people the benefit of the doubt.

Him and Belle have both done more for the 'average' member than the rest of the 'others' combined. They have show everyone that there are some folks who post over there who are decent, caring people. It also takes a certain strength of character to refuse to let others (us or them) tell you who you can and can't be friends with.

I had never had an unkind word with, or concerning, Cruella until last week. Any opinion of me that she has formed is due to nothing that happened between her and I. I think out of most things that have happened, that her email concerning me is something that surprised me quite a bit.

The thing is, I got emails that day from several other folks from rch. I didn't read most of them, after the first two, or so. I just closed my eyes and hit delete, went to my trash bin, and hit delete again. I figured I didn't need to know their opinions at that point, because I knew the names, and I knew their opinions would be attacks.

When I saw Cruella's I read it. That is because of who it was from. It actually belonged with the others, ignored and deleted.

Thanks Robin, that is very kind of you to say. I really do love it here - it is very, shall we say, refreshing I guess I'm just not the type to play sides. I have made great friends on both "sides" and those are the folks that keep me coming back. As for all the politics? Well, I had enough of that in college (I was a Poli Sci major) And I agree wholeheartedly about BillJ - we may have our own political differences , but he proves over and over to be a man of character.

With only one exception on the first day or two of common ground, I have ALWAYS been Dsorcerer...I used the name "can't say" for two posts then prior to Fantayzya's first post here. My email address has always been open and posted, as have my views, both here and in the Clubhouse...sometimes to Lori's disapointment...
