poohlover The main reasons I decided to set up the boycott were because of the despicable lies and libel that were present on the "community court" page.

At this time I do not see any misrepresentations about the FBI or criminal investigations on the site.

Of course, I recognize that the "community court" page could resurface at any time.

Thus, I will continue setting up netboycott.org offline. At this time there is no reason whatsoever to bring it online.

Stay tuned...

rubbernecker Nice work, poohlover. I can't help but think that the "server switch" is just an excuse to take down the Kooky Kommunity Kort page to stave off the boycott, or the pulling of affiliate agreements by their so-called sponsors. Still, the right thing for the wrong reasons is good enough in this case.

One question, though: are we still guilty of extortion, bribery, conspiracy, hate crimes, and consumer terrorism? Because if so, I want to get a jump on my plea bargain by calling the FBI and ratting out Crank as the real ringleader!

"Yes, Special Agent Jones, Crank suggested that I consider spending my money elsewhere even though he KNEW that we'd both go to prison for doing so!"

poohlover Indeed.

Well I am still in discussions with allposters.com. The appropropriate person and I have been playing phone-tag of late. (I was pretty tied up in court last week). Once they give me a clear answer regarding whether they are planning to continue their association with the site, we can move forward one way or the other.

Disney legal has already confirmed to me in writing that they are neither a sponsor nor affiliate of Ms. YKW's website. I am surprised that those links (which include Walmart)are still up and running.

Boycott is on, yet not yet in action.

Stay tuned.

Do feel free to contact allposters.com on your own and let them know what you think about the site.

Should happylimo or ymj pop back up, a boycott against them, along with the inherent publicity, could begin immediately.

At this time none of the 'advertisers' on the site actually sponsor it. They are links which ykw signed up for. YKW gets paid if people use the links to make purchases. In my opinion they do, however, contribute to the funding of the site.

I think it might be a little unfair to boycott Wal-Mart or Disney just because YKW and/or YKW2 is lying about the relationship between their organizations.

However, it might be appropriate to add Linkshare to the boycott list, and refuse to click on any banners that are Linkshare banners unless they end their affiliation with Magic Alley.

Robey Seems to me, we would get nowhere boycotting Linkshare. We are consumers, yes, but average consumers don't use Linkshare. The message has to come from the advertisers that Linkshare uses. Walmart and Disney, etc, would not like to be "linked" to that mess, and as such would notify Linkshare of this.

I see your point, but try getting them to care. Wal-Mart did $1.43 billion with a "b" in sales on Friday alone. To get anyone in the company to pay attention to the insignificant little turd that is Magic Alley -- and at the busiest time of the year for retailers -- would be difficult to say the least.

12-02-02 04:23 PM
Robey Agreed, but..
Linkshare would care less.
Walmart SHOULD care. It's our job to make sure they do. That is why we boycott.
Disney, I think WOULD care. A lot.
After all it is (supposed to be anyway) a Disney site.
poohlover? What cha got on this?

poohlover I left the Walmart contact info at my other office. The legal department was looking into it and I will try to reach my contact tommorrow to see what they determined.

Disney confirmed that they are not willing affiliates or sponsors and are working on it. Beyond that they keep things confidential.

Let us see what Walmart has to say tommorrow.

I personally trust Disney on the matter.

12-02-02 04:46 PM
poohlover I personally speculate that Disney cares about a lot more than just the banner. For whatever reason YKW seems to want to bait them.

Disney Legal is far more powerful than any of us so I am comfortable letting them handle that particular matter.

My nominee for Common Ground Understatement of the Year!

You'd have to be a moron to tangle with Disney Legal. I was channel-surfing over the weekend and stopped on footage of a woman scuba diving in a chainmail suit who strapped fish to her arms to get sharks to attack her. That's what I think of YKW's attempts to goad Disney Legal.

VanBrujah LL,

You shoulda seen me a few years ago when my hair really WAS that long.

6 years without a proper haircut...one must make sacrifices for one's art.

Alas, I let a young lady talk me into cutting it all off. I still miss it.

And Crank?

I'm not THAT offended. As long as you are laughing near me, and not at me.

Oh heck no!! You seemed so embarassed yesterday that I had to do something but I had to somehow put a mask on you! (I didn't want to just post your pic!)

Wait a minute...wait a minute!!!

I've gotta be either clueless or incredibly naive.

I THOUGHT that was a pic of VB's body with Crank's face superimposed on it wearing a mask. Are you telling me that this is actually VB wearing a mask and that's REALLY his sensuous mouth and strong jaw-line? And he's still single?

MEEEEOOOOOWWW!!!!! PURRRRR!!!
