Posted 02-06-03 08:58 AM It is a beautiful and balmy 25 degrees here in the center of our great state of Michigan, headed up to a spring-like 29 for our high of the day.
Scattered snow showers will be the height of the evening, but nothing to worry about for all you seasoned travellers. Little or no accumulation is expected.
Tomorrow we have a cold-snap where the daytime high will only reach 21. But the good news is that old Sol will show his face from time to time, so that should cheer up all you cabin-fever victims out there!
Saturday we're expecting a rebound with temps going up to 27. A few flurries will set off what's sure to be a typically wonderful Michigan weekend.
And that's your morning weather report for this bright and beautiful Thursday morning.
Back to you, Dab.

Posted 02-06-03 09:15 AM Despite the detonation of a one-megaton nuclear warhead near Imlay City by Mr. Phipps 8th Grade science class, and a the arrival of an unexpected asteroid near Elba, the morning commute along the I-69 corridor has gone without a hitch. Posted 02-06-03 09:42 AM I should be very happy, so I'm gonna be. Just checked the weather for Florida and, after some rain showers on the weekend (which should cut down on the crowds in the park - hyuck hyuck hyuck) it's going to be sunny and upper 60's/low 70's for my entire trip.

Despite being
in the 60-70s last weekend, we're back in the 40's-50's
now

Posted 02-06-03 10:01 AM Reporting in from Agawam, Massachusetts.
it is a fine day today. The sun is shining, and it is 16º outside, in the shade. The wind chills are making it feel abour 6º cooler then it is.
Tomorrow we are getting some snow, and could end up with 3 to 6 inches of new snow.
But, the days are getting longer, little by little. The sun isn't setting until nearly 5:30 now.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Posted 02-06-03 10:49 AM And here's your Neeeew Jersey weather!
Sunny and calm, currently 28 degrees, with a high near 32 expected. This afternoon the clouds roll in, with snow expected to begin overnight. Total accumulations expected to be 3-4" by Friday afternoon.
Which probably means snow day tomorrow. "Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Who can provide the world with the answer to these pressing questions?"
"The candy man can," Rumsfeld added grimly.

Posted 02-06-03 11:07 AM A high of 32 is expected in Chicago today. Some of you may not agree but I am disappointed with the lack of snow this winter in the Chicago area. Are we heading for a drought? Surely it is not good for the gardeners. Mary

Posted 02-06-03 11:34 AM Here's your snow, Mary!

That shot is from a webcam on the east side of Glacier National Park. We hiked that area at the base of the mountain in '99.
This webcam-

is on the west side of the park, less than thirty miles as the crow flies from the first shot. Remarkable difference in the weather, eh? Canadian highs & lows shoot south down the trough formed by the Rockies, and drop their load on the east side of the park. The west side is affected by more temperate weather that comes in from the Pacific. Did you see me at EPCOT on New Years Eve? I was wearing a yellow poncho...

Posted 02-06-03 11:51 AM This is another neat page that the Montana Dept of Transportation puts up to show the real-time condition of the major passes in the state. More snow.

Posted 02-06-03 12:30 PM Reporting from 2002 Olympic *anniversay* games--1 inch of snow on the ground thanks to a Monday storm that swooped in and causing my van to slide off of the road after I picked up my kids from school. The temps have been hovering around 40 degrees for several days now which have not been kind to me poor bones.
We're off to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Olympic games this weekend (Hoo ha!) and.....
YES! I'm looking for that damn shed key and the second vat of chocolate. Janie
