Amy, I have a whole slew of old "friends" who waste alot of their time spreading lies and trying to antagonize me. Please see my signature for an example of one such post.
The difference is that I'm past that now. In my case, I know they're lying. I know they're trying to drag me into their swamp. My real life friends and family know and love me for who I am so who gives a rip about their lies and antagonization. What matters most to me is my own personal happiness so happens next is my choosing. I can:
A). Get all upset and angry and try to "beat them at their own game" (which would probably make them happy. Remember the old saying? "Never get into a wrestling match with a pig because you'll just wind up covered with shit while the pig will be in hog heaven") or
B). Just let it go. It's just the internet. It's not real.
The only choice that makes me a happier person is B.
If you feel that Janie is trying to lie and antagonize you, you can get all worked up and make your own life miserable or you can just let it go and try to see something positive about it.
I know exactly how you feel. That's why when I read the post that's quoted in my sig, I took it to mean that this particular person finally realized that what we say on any internet board means very little. I put a positive spin on a negative post and my life is better for doing so. It takes practice, but it can be done.
After all, it's only an internet BB. It's not real
life ya know.

Honestly I went thru that thread and saw no apology at all that was related to THIS. I am glad you apologized now, but I can see where janie did not see it before. Unless of course, I am totally daft.

Posted 02-05-03 10:00 AM That stinks, Francine. I knew he could sink to the lower depths when he called Crank and I Anti-Semites for taking exception to his 'schmoozing' tactics.
But divulging someones personal info on the 'net is beyond the pale. Did you see me at EPCOT on New Years Eve? I was wearing a yellow poncho...

Posted 02-05-03 12:34 PM Let's look at the good here. As I read it, janie and AmyA have reached Common Ground, now understand each other, have resolved the issue and put it behind them.
Did someone say, "Let's party"? Somebody there is playing with a kinked slinky!

Mike, you are quite right!
I've been talking behind the scenes with both AmyA and Janie and I saw them as two folks who agreed, but weren't on the same page.
I know first hand how an apology can seem disingenuous. Unfortunately when *posting* an apology, the harmed party can't know your feelings or inflections in doing so. Such is the nature of the internet beast.
I'm glad they have finally come to an understanding.
That curb was getting pretty cluttered...

You mean the only vat of chocolate that we have? You mean the very vat that was victim to the thong incident?
You do trust me, don't you Janie?

do you people realize that some of us read this board while eating lunch? ewwwww! "Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Who can provide the world with the answer to these pressing questions?"
"The candy man can," Rumsfeld added grimly.

Perhaps we should add a warning to the TOS that Crank has at the top of the forum.
