This is the burning question that is on my mind today.

Do you watch Gilligan's Island? Do you also watch MASH?

Please, if you do, let me know what you think about this? I have noticed that Mr. Howell's teddy bear on Gilligan's Island looks exactly like Radar's teddy bear on MASH.

Both shows were CBS shows.

Do I have to much time on my hands?

Francine

You two are both in big trouble, Coastal and Crank! Here I am stressing over an important situation, and you both make light of it. Let's face it, if both Mr. Howell, and Radar used that bear, well, who knows where it will show up next.

That bear, I just have to know about that bear!

You may have to access the Screen Actor Guild database...

I was trying to be helpful and find photos of both Radar's teddy bear and Mr. Howell's bear so we could compare the two, no luck with Mr. Howell, but here's Radar.

Interesting discovery: did you know that when you put "Mr. Howell" and "teddy" into a Google search you find that there's a whole lotta erotic fanfic out there about Mr. Howell and the rest of the Gilligan's Island crew?
"Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Who can provide the world with the answer to these pressing questions?"

"The candy man can," Rumsfeld added grimly.

I have to say this. I do not recall that Mr. Howell's bear had a ribbon on. Perhaps Radar added the ribbon.

IIRC he was always taking a ribbon about that bear...

Actually they are TWO different bears that just happened to look like because I saw that when I was in high school and pointed it out to my family. After a few days of me demanding why Mr. Howell and Radar had the same bear and to see if I could get one of my own, Michael and YKW2--my two younger brothers--- hogtied me and threw me in the closet. Yes really but I got even by telling a very embarrassing story about my little innocent brothers and watching circulate through junior high that he was in and the story came back to me TOTALLY different. Bwahahahahaha!

So this bear has a evil twin so the REAL question is this: Which character had the EVIL bear: Mr. Howell or Radar?

Me? RADAR! He knew things before other people on the show thought of it and who the hell can hear the choppers that far away???

Bwahahahahah!

Okay, here is what I have found out so far. The bear also had a part on the Simpson's as Mr. Burn's teddy bear, and apparently acted in several movies and other TV series.

Teddy, as he is known to his closest friends, is now retired, and lives with his wife and two kids in the Hollywood Hills.

I am still haunted by questions, though. Why aren't there any pictures of the bear while he was on Gilligan's Island? And, if he acted in so many other things, why can't we find a bio on him? Could there be a controversy we don't know about? Could Teddy be the reason Tina Louise had such an attitude? Was there something going on between them that we don't know about? Maybe Teddy was put off by the fact that he wasn't part of the show's opening song.

If you are out there, and reading here, Teddy, please, let us know.

What if he's in Betty Ford Clinic and is unreachable? What if he dropped out like Greta Garbo did?? Francine! Let's go to California and get one of those maps of star homes and see if we can find his house or better yet, what if he's visiting Disneyland or DCA?? Who wants to crash a party at Club 33? I bet he's hiding there!

Good Question Francine, and by the way, Thanks for asking!

There are some pictures out there and it looks like someone here was on the right track. This whole thing is really kind of hard for me to talk about even now. It's a very sordid tale. But, part of my 12 step program was/is to admit I had/have a problem. You see, I was both addicted to sex and cocaine at the same time.

The whole Gilligan problem was a combination of my wild excess's and the fact that the Professor was an insufferable jackass. Yeah, so I was getting lucky with both the babes, it was no reason for him to constantly stomp on me and rip my stuffing out! You wanna know the real problem he had with me? Let's just say SIZE MATTERS!

Tina didn't always have that attitude you know. It was only after I quit sleeping with her and devoted all of my time to Dawn that she became the bitch she is now. She really never recovered from that breakup. You ever see her leave the house even today? No, I didn't think so!

She did try to find others. I heard she went through all the Care Bears in less than two weeks time! Poor guys, I saw one of them the other day performing in a traveling Carnival. Been there done that, it SUCKS!

Honestly, never bothered me. I was on a drug induced sex crazed mission from God! Or so I thought.

Alas, it ultimately ruined my career. I ended up being an "inside joke" in the porn industry. Hence the pictures on the internet. I was both a "fluffer" (yeah, I know. haha. you think I never heard that joke before?) and a set piece. Did you see "Shaving Ryan's Privates"? The Teddy Bear on the bed during the famous orgy scene, yep, that was me. Most of the time you would just see me propped up on a nightstand or a shelf or something.

Hey, thanks for thinking about me. You brought back some memories. I hear you guys are having a chat tonight. That true? Might drop in! Any of you ladies have any nude pics you want to share?

All my love,
Teddy

Teddy, I have to say, I am shocked. Were you really that desperate? I heard you have a wife and children. Have you no thought for how they feel about this?

There are support groups out there, and I hope you are getting help for your problems.

Personally, I won't hold it against you. We all have made mistakes in life.

Edited to add: I am so sorry. I didn't even extend a proper welcome to you. We are glad to have you here at Common Ground.

And, just a quick question. Do you keep in touch with Bob Denver? And, were you as close off set to Mr. Howell and Radar as on the set?

Your fan,
Francine

Nah, not really. Bob's an ok guy, but geez, take that friggin sailor hat off already! The show ended over 30 yrs ago!

Sooooo there is only ONE of you?? Then who was that bear in Mr. Burn's bony, loveless arms? Would you by chance know Mr. Bill of Saturday Night Live fame? I adore that little guy! The last time I saw the little guy, he told me that he was going to see the wise lion of Misfit Toy Island for some resolution to his problems and that you were spending your time running around with the Cotton Brat Pack and gambling away your button eyes. (did you get them back or did you get an eyes transplant operation? I heard it on the grapevine!)

Thanks!
Janie

Oh, I think I will pass on that, Teddy. I mean, by special, what exactly do you mean?

Oh, and one more thing, simply because it is a question that begs to be asked. Who is your favorite, Mary Ann, or Ginger?
