Here's a topic for the Outback:

I was reading on another board about the Laci Peterson (sp?) saga. She's that pregnant woman who disappeared near Xmas last year and I guess her husband has been on talk shows.

But I digress....

One of the posters used my unfavorite catch-phrase "At the very least...". This is my unfavorite because my sister used to use it all the time when I was growing up (mirroring my mother). The entire phrase on this particular BB was "At the very least, he could tell the family where the body is"

OK, two points here:

1). If he told the family where the body was, that would be admitting guilt, wouldn't it? He's free right now, why the hell would he want to screw up that freedom by admitting guilt and telling where the body is? (If he indeed has any clue. I guess he's guilty until proven innocent)

2). That phrase....AAAARRRGGG "At the very least..". Sorry, folks, but I'm doing the very least which is NOTHING. The very least any of us can do is nothing. That's the least. Period. Nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing.....dammit.

The least anyone can do is nothing. It's the least. The less. The very little. Nothing, nothing, nothing is the least.

And he's doing it. The very least.

Perhaps later on I'll get into my rant about "Who the hell are YOU to tell me what minimum action I have to take to be approved of by you?" But right now, I'm still stuck on "At the very least..." which is nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.....

Ok. I'm done for now. Thanks for listening.

Well, at the very least, you should have found a spot in your post to insert(no pun intended) the humping smilies.

Sorry, LL, I disagree.

I think you have to do something to say "at the very least".

I almost did, Coastal. I was thinking the humpy smileys would cheer me up immensely and I was thinking of doing a page of nothing but humpy smilies. Oh, what the heck, here's one for ya (and me):

And Robb.................shut up.

What I did do (at the very least) was find some funny things on another board and have been lauging my behind off for a little while. All it takes is getting it out of my system, then turning my attention to other things.

Here are a few funnys that I loved (credit goes to the members of the "Think Tank". Thank you):

----------------------
Some men are like Slinkies . . . Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
----------------------
A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement and then asked,
"What's the matter haven't you ever seen a little boy before?"
----------------------
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking and I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there?" he asked. "It sure is," I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, "What'd he do?"
----------------------
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his five-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: "Glory be unto the Faaaather...and unto the Sonnn.....and into the hole he gooooes."
-----------------------

Add to these funnies the fact that the radio has been playing my favorite jazz songs for the past 20 minutes and I'm starting to feel happier already!

Being "ME" I have every right to tell you what the minimum action you have to take to be approved by ME is. Should you ever (In the event of some catastrophic, miraculous, divine, satanic, menstrual, dream, drug, sugar, cleaning supply fume or any other type of intervention) decide it mattered in the least to you whether or not I or anyone else approved of you, I would think that might be useful information.

On the flip side, who the heck are you to dictate to me or anyone else whether or not we are free to voice our opinions? In ranting about this are you not attempting to stop that which pi**es you off? If only by intimidating those who would risk being on the receiving end of the rant?

Do we PMS at the same time or what?

edited to add thanks for the giggles (jokes) too!

I think we are definitely on the same cycles, Fan. Of course, if my sister said to me what you just said to me, I'd have to say:

"The very least you could do is shut your pie hole".

**edited to add - You're very welcome. Sometimes I just gotta rant! OH! And BTW, my public radio station is STILL playing the BEST jazz songs I've heard in a long time. I don't think I wanna go anywhere for awhile!**

Let me say something here and now:

I NEVER do ANYTHING at the very least. It's hot or it's cold, it's black or it's white, I'm in or I'm out. Why make a cake when you could make a cake, cupcakes, fudge, pineapple-upsidedown cake AND cookies? Why take 10 pictures when you can take 35? Why throw up when you can throw up, pass out and land in your own vomit? (in deference to Janie and the twinkie thing. OH....BTW....shut up Janie. There, YOU get one too)Why use condoms when you can use the neon ones that glow in the dark? Why download ONE 4 minute video from a porn site when you can download 7 and surf another porn site at the same time? (yeah, it takes longer, but you get to whack off more and longer)

I NEVER do ANYTHING at the very least.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm almost at the end of an email conversation with a friend of mine in another city. She just received a wedding present from a friend of hers that involves leather thong panties that require batteries.

She still hasn't told me what the distance ratio is on the remote control and I want to get that particular piece of info out of her before she leaves her office for the day.
