Hello all. I'm finally going to introduce myself and come mostly out of lurkdom. I did chat with some of you about two weeks ago during a Friday nite chat. It was fun. Hopefully some of you will remember me. (I fell off twice. Kind of klutzy) I'd like to say a very big thank you to all of the members of this board for the never ending issues that provide me with entertainment, information and some thought provoking comments. I'm mostly part owl so most of my reading is late at nite - after midnite mostly. I read the disney boards on various sites and I do like the boards that allow spirited discussions where one can speak freely within reason without being sent to exile. We don't get to WDW too often. I try for every three years. We were there in August and I'd love to go back. Chicago is -25 WC @ O'Hare this morning, so that should speak for itself. Thanks again for all the fun and information especially the security blanket forum.

Lurk at ya later!

Hi Anna!

We've got some good people on this board from your neck of the woods, plus a bunch from a superior state, Michigan!

But borders don't seem to matter today; it's cold everywhere!
Did you see me at EPCOT on New Years Eve? I was wearing a yellow poncho...

That's because you're getting a free preview of Purgatory! Take a look around. Is there a big guy with wings and a halo guarding the gate? And it'll get a lot warmer unless you quit busting people over the skull with a skillet for no good reason!

BTW, Janie, I can skip around the block too, but I have to wear my football cleats to do it...

Purgatory? Big guy with wings? Lemme check! (steps outside for a minute then comes back in) Nope--I see a big guy in a maroon polyester tuxedo singing "Staying Alive" as he holds a sign that says "Dante's Limo-first class ride to seventh level."

(polishes up my skillet) I'm just trying to "save" your soul from the hellish damnation of eternal disco. !

Welcome from another fellow Chicagoan. Watch out for Janie and her collection of household appliances that cause bodily harm. I believe we are all having HOT chocolate today.

Hi Anna! Welcome to Common Ground! We are always glad to make new friends, and hope you like it here. Be sure to look around, and check out the other forums.

And, in case no one told you, any and all chocolate goes to me, not Janie. It is one of the only rules around here. You see, because I am the queen, I always get my way. I am a kind and gentle queen. Well, until I don't get my way, then you have to walk the plank.

Thank you all for the warm & toasty welcome! Actually my name is Anne, however, anna works best. I've learned to answer to most variations of Anne. I'm not sure why that name was hard for so many people. Anna and Annemarie and Annie kind of stuck. So....anna. It's easy. No confusion. By the by, I'm familiar with Janie from the AOL disney board. The off topic portion is called the moat now and not as much fun to read and sometimes answer anymore. They're very nice over there but it doesn't get too lively. Lively is good. I'm going to have a difficult time sharing that chocolate. Hmmm, don't know about sharing the chocolate. Just got a nice box of Godiva waiting to be opened. Share or wind up with a really big ass? Sometimes life's not fair. Share it is. Hot chocolate sounds good too. What are we spiking it with?

HEY! (drops a water balloon on Francine) The chocolate goes to ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! (seagull swoops down and starts pecking on my head)

OW! OW! Francine git your pet bird off of me! OW! OW! (runs out to the edge of the plank) Leave me alone, you fowl whacko! (jumps)

Sorry Janie, should have been more specific. I know you from the AOL Dis OT board when breakfast mess was really beginning to snowball. The Hitler remark put me over the edge and I wrote to ACLU and another letter to WDW. Believe I sent you a link to ACLU. Not sure. I mostly lurked but responded or piped up when I couldn't stay quiet much longer. Let me pick a nice Godiva for 'ya for the misunderstanding. Dark choco or milk? I've got a selection!

Me too! It seems such a simple name, but everyone seems to have a problem with that silent "e" at the end, they either want to pronounce it or add to it. I think adding a clear syllable at the end (whether anna for you or annie for me) makes life simpler for everyone else .
