You
know the more I read of him, i just
have no other response than pity. It
must be very hard to be what he's made
himself. Whatever pleasure he obviously
gets from his behavior seems to be
the only pleasures he allows himself.

Where ya been bud? ............
Ditto.
He is a sad human form living a sad life.
His only pleasure appears to be derived
from what is given to him by people that
don't even know him on a personal level.
And what is given to him is not really
anything substantial. Very sad.
However, my sympathy evaporates
when he lashes out at those that
simply do not conform to his wishes
to be idolized, Or by acknowledging
him as "King Uncle Howie", or an "Angel".
He craves this so much that he
is willing to do anything FOR it
and TO anyone that is not willing
to provide this for him.
Howard NEEDS to be "special".
His need manifests in many ways:
First in everything
Special accomodations just for
HIM
Recognition
Pushing people out of the way to
get the "Best" seat.
Breaking the Rules and getting
away with it.
Name Dropping
Lying to get attention.
Manipulation
Exageration.
All the traits you pray that your
child will outgrow.
I always wondered why somebody
didn't do something about that.
Then I realized I was somebody.

I
think he's just sad. My mental
picture of him is this three year
old in short pants and a dirty
shirt banging on the bars of his
playpen screaming for someone to
notice him.
It's very sad. He doesn't hurt me
because people who behave in the
manner y'all described are typically
not people of influence, however
it's sad that he lets others define
who he is and what he's worth. Until he gets over
this need for recognition and applause,
he will be forever controlled by
the whims and desires of others.
Like Madonna says: Poor is the
man whose pleasures depend on the
permission of another.
God grant me the senility
to forget the people I never liked
anyway, the good fortune to run
into the ones I do, and the eyesight
to tell the difference. |

What
piques my curiosity about Howie
is his need to publicize
his success and the methods he
uses, most of which I find questionable,
if not downright unethical. Why?
He should be secure in his life
if everything he posts is true.
IMO, his trip reports were ruined
by his constant litany of 'I was
first', and his vicious trips to
the soapbox.
I had a wonderful trip! I felt
the Magic! I was first everywhere
I went! I taught our child that
it was OK to obfuscate the truth!
I hope all the nasty things Rita
wants to do to those horrid people
comes to fruition
See? Something’s not right. That's
the same feeling I got when he'd
make his late night raids over
here, then delete everything the
next day.
I hope his head clears, because
in some of his posts I saw a likeable
guy.

And he justifies his spiteful attacks like
a snooty high school girl. I read parts
of his trip report--PARTS of it because
it was tedious to read about him thumping
his own chest over the wonderful things
that HE got--and there is one thing that
I do not understand:
He claimed that he got the table
by the podium and saw other people
being seated without being asked
for their IDs. I took my oldest
to CRT in 1997 and from what I
can remember, the podium was at
ground level and we waited by the
podium for a few minutes before
we were escorted to our table UPSTAIRS
so is there a table that is in
view of the podium that I'm NOT
aware of? We did have 8:05 CRT
reservation but decided not to
go 'cause we were having too much
fun doing other stuff.
As for the book review that *offended*
him, he supported Dave's little
tirade and talked about his grandmother's
holocaust experiences BEFORE I
posted my review. You can ask others
who read his post about it and
how he stood by Dave's little Hitler
remark so he could keep his little "Pollyanna" world
intact.
Now...THAT is sad.

The podium is now outside the main doors.
After you check in, you walk into a chamber
where Cindy sits on her throne (don't go
there, Crank). When your table's ready,
a bell is rung, your name is called, and
you're given a card and directed to either
the staircase or the elevator. When we
hit the top, I think we then gave our card
to the hostess, and she seated us. I can't
remember the rest, I was fried.

Thanks for explaining, Ajax. The
reason why I stood by the podium
with my Sarah was because I was
B.C.I --before cochlear implant.
The food itself wasn't all that
great but the decor of the restuarant
was very nice. As for you being
fried--don't blame my skillet!

There is no reason to stand beside
that podium (other than why janie
did) unless you are smoozing and
making sure they know who you are.
They do NOT want you to hang around
the podium. There is very little
space. He put it in his trip report
in order to further reiterate just
how important he is. (NOT!) Unfortunately,
it is transparent to most. Just
plain silly, it is.
I always wondered why somebody
didn't do something about that.
Then I realized I was somebody.

I too have been thinking along
these lines lately. I will try
to feel happy that there are adults
that have never suffered a loss
or tragedy important enough to
them to have learned compassion
for others. To have never learned
to weigh hardships. To watch the
news and hear of the things that
others have (are) suffering and
feel that not wearing a name tag
at WDW is an important loss. How
sad to be so shallow and believe
in the face of recent events that
those that disagree with you over
a breakfast are the real "Haters" in
this world. I will however, as
I said try to feel happy for them
instead of the pity I feel right
now.

I'd
just like to interrupt this thread
to say hello to Howie. As much
as he complains about people psychoanalyzing
him, it's always outweighed by
the pleasure of people talking
about him. Right, Howie? We may
be little more than flies buzzing
around shit, but at least the buzz
is centered on The King.
(Not that Howie is shit.)
(Not that he isn't.)
Since it is apparently good to
be the king, my plan for my upcoming
trip is to make all my PS under
the name "King Uncle Howard Ditchek,
Lover of Disney, Friend of Eisner,
Enabler of Dreams." The CMs will
assume that I'm Howie and they'll
talk to me and stuff. Of course,
every one of them will have heard
of me and they'll all be on "my" side,
due to Howie being right about
everything.
Then, once my identity as Howie
is firmly established, and every
CM at WDW has "my" name on their
lips, that's when I'll pull the
stunt that gets me banned from
the parks forever. (I won't go
into details here, except to say
that I'm naming the stunt "The
Friendship Fountain") The security
CMs will assume I'm Howie, then
he will get banned, and I will
have some great stories to tell.
Maybe RiRi will even let me host
my own private chat: "Being a Boorish
Liar at WDW -- Getting Your Way
Is Way Cool!"
Hoping RiRi gives me some
conjugal visits when I go to prison

I LOVE IT!
If you do it, I will do the same

Maybe I will start posting on other
