You ran into Howie with all his little name tags and such, or overheard him telling everyone who he is because he was so afraid that people would NOT notice who he is?

Seriously, Obviously he isn't afraid of someone trying to harm him. Never was.

What would I do? LAUGH!
Privately of course, so as to not draw attention to him.
(We all know that is what he really wants~ attention)

just wonderin'....

I'd immediately go to the nearest CM, since Disney is in on this also to destroy the competing site and guidebook, and give them the password. From there, the CM is immediately instructed to send a distress call to all the haters. Then we'd immediately show up wearing goofy hats, bones in our noses and dance around the sacred fire we built with his cancelled PS reservations to drive away the evil spirits. Next, we'd create a wall of haters, vigilantes, hackers, and liars that would push him and his family to the plaza pavillion restaurant. Tinkerbelle would then sweep down from the top of Cinderella's Castle an snatch them back up there where they would be kept imprisioned with no telephone lines or internet access.

I don't want to mention what happens up there, but I'm told that it gets rough. An inside source told me it they do have a never ending loop of It's a Small World and tons of Beverly stored up there. Uhhh, I shiver just to think of it.

Or,

I could just feel pity and go enjoy the rest of my trip with my family. After all, thats why some of us are there.

Honestly, I don't think I'd really notice. I don't take that much note of people around me unless they look like they're following me or something.

In a crowd? Nope. Wouldn't notice Howard at all. I guess he'd look like just another pin freak to me.

LL,

But you wouldn't be able to miss him (which is my point).
He makes it obvious to all.

I'm not sure...I get pretty one-tracked when I'm heading from Splash Mountain to Thunder Mountain.

Of course, if he stood in front of me and said "HI! MY name's Howie and I'm the king of Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast reservations!", then I might take note....just long enough to push him out of my way so I could get the next fast-pass for Splash.

As I said, I'm really forgetful. Out in the real world it might take a moment or two before the name "King Unca Howie" registered. However, if he's making THAT big of a fool of himself to be obvious, then he deserves his detractors yelling at him when he's on vacation. It could be the only time they could beat him up in person for taking away CRT from their daughters.

Me either, unless they're very unruly or dressed/made up in a grotesque fashion. When I'm at WDW, I'm more or less oblivious to anything else other than the park I'm in and the attraction I'm focusing on.

Sandy and Lauren share the same taste, which I sometimes don't. So while they're off doing whatever, I'll grab a bench and watch people. That's when I'm most often liable to notice cute kids, pins, tatoos, nice gams, big bazooms, etc.

As for KUH, I wouldn't know him if I stepped on him. And if I did happen to run across someone making a big fuss about nothing and wearing a 'Howie' pin, I'd most likely chuckle to myself and walk away.

Actually, upon pondering the question while eating lunch, I guess I'd be enough of a bitch that if I had noticed him I'd be willing to share that info out to an angry parent if I were standing in line with a mom/dad holding onto a disappointed kid's hand. I'd be sure to let them know he's in the park and what he's wearing if they felt the need to talk to him.

I'd also make sure to mention that he works for Rita Aero just in case they wanted to make sure they don't support Howard's "calling" by buying any Aero books. But that's just me...and I can be a subtle crab-apple when I wanna be.

I wouldn't know him either. I guess in addition to the chuckle I would probably shake my head and count my blessings that, at least, the Good Lord doesn't think He's Howie...

Yeah, I remember it, but he looked like any other guy with curley hair and his arm around an old woman with a magic wand. We see a lot of that around here.

I treat him as if he had cooties and keep my distance. If for some reason he approached me I ask him to leave me along, and if he didn't I'd tell the nearest CM I'm being harrassed.

I have no interest in interacting with him in any shape or form.

Probably the civil thing to do would be to inform a CM that there is a poor befuddled man who has forgotten who he is so they can assist him.

He *does* wander about asking "Do YOU know who I AM? Do YOU know who I AM?"

Perhaps that is why he stays at YKW's.
At least they remind him constantly of who he is....

After reading his latest trip report (yawn), I'd probably be moving out of his way since he has to be first at a place and be front and center. I'd rather enjoy life then get an ulcer from worrying if I'm there before the security guards so I don't think we'd ever be at the same place at the same time. If I happen to, I'd just roll my eyes and move along (after all, there should be a crowd around him soon when others find out who he is).
I think he wishes he was some celebrity who gets perks but those celebrities get those things without having their daughter wear a birthday button 3 weeks before her actual birthday (whether she tells them or not, one day is plenty but the entire trip???) Hopefully there weren't other kids who had real birthdays who weren't getting slided cause a dad and child wanted to celebrate for 8 days 3 weeks before her birthday. But who cares, it's all about Howie and his daughter smoozing. I'd rather teach my kids that once we've done something special, we try to let other kids have a chance.

Actually, 1 in 9 people in the park could also claim to have a birthday within a similar or less timeframe. That would be a lot of people wandering around with Birthday buttons if they all chose to wear them.

You HAD to go and mention Tombo, didn't you?

First, WDWDen comes lurking around (very late at night too, I might add) and now you mention Tombo?

Next we will see a revisit from him, Dennis, Sarge, SmileAwhile, and God only knows who else....

Don't you know better than to invoke these names?

As far as I am concerned, everyone who is at Disney World with me is DisneyKin. I don't often notice much of anything but "Disney" when I am in the World, but when anyone approaches me, I treat them with friendliness and do my best to share the delight of Disney with them.

Ahnalira and Alan truely are what Disney means to me. They have that Magic in them, and they aren't afraid to use it! I tell you right now, hanging out with them at WDW is an adventure filled with laughter, giggles, smiles, and wish making.

A word of warning for all of you. Your face will hurt the next day because of all the smiling. There is no known cure for this, and you can expect relapses often. Also, be prepared to lose any unhappiness you are carrying when you are with them. Your best bet is to just leave it behind before you go. Ahnalira, aka Miss Happy Day, will put you in a good mood no matter what, and again, there is no known cure for this. I tell you, I have been witness to all of this and more!!

Sorry, Ahnalira, but I had to be honest. I had to tell the truth about you.

I have to agree with Francine. I had such a good time in a few hours with Ahnalira & Alan that we will be getting together again in April. If the new horsie arrives while we are still there I may even be lucky enough to visit in person.

LL, you should definitely try to meet up with these two. I'm sure Ahnalira is NOT going to let Alan be alone with you though. Sorry.

EVERYONE should meet the nice fairy lady when they can.
